Checking the service history as I do with my cars, the guy who has owned the car for the last 11 years used the same garage for servicing year in, year out. As you can see the car has been meticulously serviced every year, so I doubt that it hasn"t been service since the last stamp in the book, however I can only report what I have. Checking the mileage history on VOSA, he also used the same MOT station every year until 2011. Since 2011 his mileage apparently more than halved, which accounts for only 16k miles since the last stamp in the book. Maybe he moved, or retired, I don"t know, but the same garage has performed the last 3 MOT"s so may be worth checking with them whether thay have also serviced the car. As the car only arrived with me this morning (sat), I haven"t been able to but can supply you with their number. What I can say is that the car drives 100% with no faults that I could find.

The Car:
Thanks for taking a look at this lovely example of the Volvo S40 Sport Saloon. Before telling you about the car, I think I should maybe tell you a little about myself... From College 18 yrs ago I went straight to work in the motor trade working exclusively for franchised main dealers in sales. This meant that I spent my days appraising and buying cars of all makes and models, both new and used, all day long. As such feel that being able to spot "the nice ones" is a skill developed with many years of industry and manufacturer training. Since leaving the main dealer arena to pursue family commitments I have maintained my industry contacts and get offered many cars by friends and previous colleagues still working in main dealerships who are tasked with keeping an eye out for these "nice ones". With both their experience and mine, this usually gives me a very good chance of obtaining genuine cars at great prices, which then means I can pass the saving straight onto you. This usually works for me, (not always, but that"s cars for you) but regardless, my commitment to you is that the car will be described accurately here and priced to reflect the best value I can find across the trade. As those who know me would testify, I thoroughly enjoy working with cars and take a great deal of personal satisfaction in providing people with great cars at an affordable price and am committed to providing great service. Please take a moment to read my feedback, so that you can understand that what is described is what you will be getting and buy with confidence.
This car is absolutely lovely for its age, and drives without fault. In fact it couldn"t drive any better! There is no pulling to the left or right, either when accelerating, driving or braking. The acceleration is smooth and powerful as you would expect, as these superb 1.8i engines produce a very respectable 122bhp, hardly makes a sound when cruising along and yet can still easily return an average of 36+ mpg!! The gearbox moves from gear to gear silky smooth, both up and down through all 5 gears perfectly. The clutch works as it should, and it changes up and down as required with no judder between gears and the brakes feel very sharp. Neither is there any juddering from the steering wheel at motorway speed, and no funny noises, knocks or whines from anywhere else. There are also no warning lights on on the dashboard. It really couldn"t drive any better! All 4 wheels are in good condition for their age, and the tyres are also in good condition all round. I have inspected the car all round, and it does have a few chips and age related marks but with the exception of the one light scrape on the drivers front lower bumper which could be easily touched in, there is absolutely no damage that you would call significant, or even that noticeable. Overall the car presents very well for its age and has obviously been very well maintained (See pics/history). Inside the car the interior is in excellent condition and their really isn"t any wear to be found anywhere around the cabin. The lovely soft half leather trim/cloth trim is in excellent condition, and there are no rips or tears anywhere. All of the knobs and buttons work, the air conditioning is icy cold (or warm if you are like me), and there are no pieces of trim hanging off anywhere. I could just keep going on and on, it is a real testament to just how well engineered these cars are and how they can stand up to a few miles if well maintained. It really is a very nice example of a very comfortable, versatile and safe family car in very well looked after condition , and superb value for money.
Quite simply, this is an lovely car at a lovely price!! It honestly couldn"t drive any better, is in great condition for its age, has a superb service history, and has a long MOT. It is a very relaxing and enjoyable place to be... It comes with all its original handbook pack including the service history, stamped as already detailed and both of its original keys. Other than this all I can say really is if you are looking for one of these cars, then you should probably stop reading this ad and call me straight away because as I said, I don"t think you really will find a better value car at this age, mileage and price anywhere, and I"m sure that the first person to view this car will definitely drive away in it!
As always, I have tried to be as honest as possible with my description, as mis-describing cars just wastes everybody"s time.
