Ultra rare 1992 154 mph (250 km/h) Super Car.
(the later ones from 1994 are restricted to 135mph, not this one) The car for sale here also has the more desirable VTD spec transmission which is the desired one, true constant 4WD with rear-favored balance,with the sportier continuous traction delivery system, called VTD (Variable Torque Distribution)The VTD AWD system is a permanent AWD due to its 36% / 64% split,while lots of other SVX have the othersystem, called ACT-4 (Active Torque Split), and used a variable clutch pack center differential using a 90% / 10% power split front to rear, which could transfer up to a 50% / 50% power split for maximum traction if the front wheels started to slip
Having 4 wheel drive and not quite a light car, but amazingly feels very light when driven, due to all that power.

An important aspect with any car is how well it delivers its power to the road and in that respect, the SVX is way out in front. It"s immensely reassuring to know that you"re not going to get any wheel slip no matter how hard you accelerate and that the levels of grip, handling and braking far exceed what you"re ever likely to call on.
Considering the SVX is a heavy car, with automatic transmission, four-wheel drive and loads of accessories, it does pretty well on fuel usage. The overall consumption rate during our tests was 12.6 litres/100 km, with the car using only 10.3 litres/100 km on highway-type running.
Low noise levels are a feature of the SVX, in keeping with its status of a luxury sports coupe rather than a no compromise sports machine. The engine shows its willingness to work by producing a very pleasant sound when revving hard but it never becomes so intrusive to be annoying.
If I was asked to pick the single most impressive feature about the SVX it would surely be the road holding and handling. I am well used to the advantages of full time four wheel drive but the SVX sticks to the road in a manner that truly has to be experienced to be believed
The flat six engine plays it part in the SVX having a low centre of gravity for good stability, the wide tracks, fat tyres and 4WD provide tremendous grip and the speed sensitive power steering supplies the necessary feel to keep the driver well in contact with what the wheels are doing. With that combination, it"s no wonder the SVX feels so secure on the road and stays so beautifully composed, even when pushed hard through bumpy bends that put other cars off balance.
The best performance and handling aren"t of much use if you can"t stop the thing properly and I"m happy to say that the SVX scores top marks in this regard. Remembering this is a big, heavy car, the SVX recorded some of the shortest stopping distances and most powerful retardation rates ever achieved in the long history of NRMA road testing. Commendably, it does all this with only light pedal application effort required from the driver. Resistance to fade under continual heavy usage was also outstanding.
Conditon of this particular car for sale:Paintwork in rust free condition, excellent for year, no scratches or dents along the side either apart from small scrape near left front indicator and 4 or 5 minor stone chips in bonnet. 1 door handle needs repainting, some stone chips in top of rear bumper.With just 107,100 miles this 3.3 flat six engine is just run in. The 3.3-litre flat six starts instantly and runs faultlessly.
The luxurious Leather and Alcantara interior normally only seen at Maserati and similar luxury cars, is excellent. Electric everything, including seats, Cruise control, all 4 electric windows, electric mirrors, heated seats, and electric sunroof all work, as does the radio with tape and 10 disc CD changer and electric aerial.
The car has a recent custom made full stainless steel performance exhaust system and sounds fantastic - like a Ferrari, and not intrusive. The transmission has a kit fitted to make the car shift more performance orientated. This improves performance and enables the gearbox to do quicker downshifts. Please see here for explanation. 4 new Avon high quality tyres just been fitted 1500 mls ago, . No rust problems under the car which is remarkable for a car this age. Cars suspension working perfectly and sits like on rails even when cornering at high speeds and motorways, and very capable brakes, steering is very precise.Engine is fantastic, starts immediately even when sat for a while and totally healthy sounding, next to 0 oil consumption, and performs superbly.
The SVX also had new rear brake pads 1500 mls ago.
Service history with 15 stamps in original Subaru Service book, up to 92,000 mls, 13 from Japanese car specialists and 2 independent, plus been serviced 1 year ago with receipts for Castrol oil, new coolant.
The SVX 3.3 has a rare non interference engine which means if the timing belt brakes there will not be any engine damage.Just passed new Mot with flying colours and 0 advisories !
