As an apprentice I helped the previous owner get the car on the road in 1965. He passed away about 7 years ago and I felt we would bring the car back to life but not to concourse presentation standards.
Over the last few years the following jobs have been done to the car, followed by accreditation from the Morgan Owners Club and their various specialist advisors to obtain a current registration document (the original ones are also with the car).
The tasks undertaken include the following list.:-
* Engine removal and piston ring,big ends and main bearing replacement. (This was also done 1965).
* Gearbox Removed and a full strip down with the bearings replaced (no gears were replaced).
* Great care and advice taken sorting the selector mechanism!
* Full chassis check for integrity followed by full repaint in the correct Morgan Red paint.
* New dashboard remanufactured and fitted.
* New wiring loom manufactured and fitted to the car. The old wiring was poor and to take this project forward I thought it would save any stripping out after and it looks perfect.
* The interior has had the wooden door frame replaced, the front seats recovered the remainder is in good condition.
* The wheels were repainted and fitted with 4 new tyres and tubes.
* The fuel tank leaked and has been now repaired.
* The car has side screens and the hood although not refurbished is available for the car.
I am asking £14500 for the car delivered in the uk and the payment can be made direct to the owners family.
