1976 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow 1.Chassis Number SRH25478. Registration number OYW65R. Ordered new by her Majesty`s Lord Lieutenant for South Yorkshire. This car was used exclusively for royal duties running members of the royal family about whilst on official visits for the first 10 years of its life. The history comes with a letter to this effect. There is also a listing showing all the royals who used it and the trips they took including H.M.The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of Gloucester. Princess Margaret, Princess Anne, the Prince and Princess of Wales (Diana). The Duchess of Kent & Gloucester etc etc. During this time the car was garaged & used exclusively by the Royals. The car is finished in Royal Garnet with a triple cream gold coach lines on both sides as seen on other royal cars. The service book has numerous stamps from Kennings of Sheffield, attesting to maintenance by the book for the early part of its life. Later years include invoices from Bob Thredder & Michael Walker. The interior of the car has oatmeal leather to the front, rear and headlining all in super condition. Likewise all wood work is excellent as are the carpets. The car drives beautifully and is in excellent rust free condition. The car also benefits from its undisputed excellent royal provenance.
I bought the car from Vintage & Prestige of London in 2012 and has been kept in an air chamber for 6 years. In my tenure I have had the car totally resprayed due to to much polishing over the years and the primer showing through took 4 months to complete the respray. reconditioned air con, new fuel pump, brake calipers resealed and pipes renewed. Underbody wax oiled. New battery and tyres The car is in excellent original condition and drives as a Rolls Royce should. The car can be viewed at any time call 07487 519315.
