For sale is my 1982 Lotus ESPRIT S3 n/a, only 56,000 miles from new, Calypso red, a very original and genuine car, comes complete with the original service book and a large history file including every mot.
Part of a private collection until recently, it has had much money and time spent over the past 12 months to bring it up to this standard, recent work includes the following, new gear linkages, new cam belt last year, fully overhauled cooling system, new modern fans and a new 3 core radiator, re-built brake calipers, new shocks and springs all round (SJ Adjustable) arb bushes, new trunnions both sides, new master cylinder, carbs re-built and fully re-tuned, all four wheels stripped and powder coated.
As you can see it has been well maintained, the end result is a car that starts readily and runs and drives as one of these iconic cars should, when I bought the car I had it looked over by Lotus Specialists SJ Sportscars who said it was in good mechanical condition, the only real area of note being that the car currently has K&N filters rather than an original air box (see photos).
It is mot"d until April 2016, which it passed first time with no advisories, and it is currently taxed.
Most of the paint is the factory applied original, it still looks good for its age, though it would benefit from renovation, particularly to the o/s rear wing where there is some crazing and scratches (see picture).
The interior is original and the leather is in good condition for its age, although the cloth items would benefit from renovation.
My intention was to carry out the renovation to the paintwork and interior of the car and to enjoy it as the classic that it is, unfortunately as I have lost my storage space the car has to go.
Don"t let that put you off, this is a good honest car and would prove an investment with the renovation work done as early ESPRIT"s have been rising in value over recent years.  
I was recently told that the car is worth around £8,000 in its current condition and around £15,000 if the above work was done.  As it has to go I have set a low reserve which is a fraction of that price so grab yourself a bargain!
Unfortunately I can not deliver the car so the buyer will have to collect it.  The car is located in Newton Abbot, Devon.
