I rescued this early RIALTO from imminent destruction a couple of years ago and have stored it mainly under cover since then.It was taken off the road in 2007 and put on SORN.It had been parked up alongside a hedge which, over time, consumed the car, which is probably why the paintwork has suffered. The interior, however, remained dry and is in very good condition, so with a fibreglass body and a galvanised chassis, this car is well worth restoring. There is a stack of bills and old MOTs with the car, which suggest that the low mileage of 73625 is probably genuine.I have no knowledge of its mechanical condition, other than what can be gleaned from the stack of bills and MOTs.All I have done since rescuing the car is to have cleaned of the green mossy growth that it was covered in. I have also cleaned up the interior and have been surprised at just how good its condition is.The front brake was stuck, so I have removed the drum and put the wheel back on, so the car can be easily pushed on to a trailer.I have not tried to assess the state of the engine or gearbox, nor have I checked the condition of the under body components.There is a toolkit included.There is a Sharpe radio cassette player, with the Audioline speakers mounted under the front seats.None of the electrical components have been tested, and there is no battery with the car.The V5c is present and it is registered and SORN"d in my name.My knowledge of Reliants isn"t great, but I understand that RIALTOs were produced from January 1982.This one was registered in May 1982, so is a very early example.Viewing is available.There is no reserve or Buy it Now price.Payment by Cash on Collection and within 7 days of the end of the Auction.
