Thanks for having a look, for sale is my MG Montego EFi race car, I’ve owned this car for the past year and a bit and unfortunately it just doesn’t get used enough. Since owning it it has done a complete track day with no issues all day, it was also entered into the 45 minute Dave Allen Trophy Race at Castle Combe where it qualified 3rd in class and up until the red flag was running 2nd in class. Then after the restart the car wouldn’t start so we had to retire the car, afterwards we found that it was just the starter motor cable that had come loose.
The car comes with a few boxes of spares including lights, cables, driveshafts plus a few more bits and pieces.
Underneath is remarkably solid considering it’s best part of 35 years old all 4 jacking points are solid. The panels on the other hand aren’t as great but still perfectly salvageable as these just have a bit of surface rust. Around the rear window has a couple of holes but is still easily saveable.
The car has very recently been completely serviced with all new plugs fluids and filters. Doesn’t start as the fuel pumps gone but I’ve got a brand new one to go with it. The exhaust manifold is leaking but a replacement can be had off of rimmerbros for £18. Engine is believed to be slightly tuned according to history I can’t prove this but it does go well for an old girl, has had brand new schroth Hans harnesses fitted and the fire extinguisher was brand new last year and in date. Comes on a set of Montego wheels with Toyo T1R’s fitted and also a set of MGf wheels with brand new r888’s fitted. The car is on Leda suspension all round with shortened and stiffened springs, and the suspension has been polybushed too, does handle remarkably well. Has a full performance exhaust system fitted and does sound great.
I have the V5 so if you really want to it could be put back on the road. It has No MOT so you can’t drive it away it must be trailered.
Priced to sell and only selling as have too many projects ongoing at the moment and could do with the space.... no silly offers I don’t need the money but I’ll listen to a sensible one
