For sale is my 1987 8v GTI with 3 doors with a digifant engine. It would have come with this engine as standard however the one in the car is slightly lower mileage than the shell.
I"ve owned this car for less than a year and have only used it on weekends and to take it to a few shows.
As you can see, it"s one of the earlier shape models with small bumpers, quarter-light windows and a few other features which makes the car different from a later shaped model. Some regard this shape as a Type-19.
The car features very little in terms of luxury, It has no power steering, electric windows etc. However, you could view this as you"ve got less to go wrong!
The shell is on around 135k approximately, unfortunately the clocks have been changed a few times but looking at the MOT history a good approximate is indeed 135k. The engine in the car is on a little bit less than this. The car is MOT"d until the 15th of September 2017.
Now on to the good bits!
The car has had a lot of work carried out in my ownership, which includes a lot of structural work to keep the car on the road for the foreseeable future! This included new corner sections for the rear valance, repairs to one sill and repairs to the rear struts.

The car has a few modifications which in my opinion improve upon an already excellent car. It has uprated brakes front and rear, featuring a 16v setup on the front and a Mk4 golf setup on the rear. It stops on a dime and with Mk4 rears, you don"t have to worry about seizing calipers!
It"s also sitting on adjustable coilovers and has a few small upgrades like an uprated headlight loom and a Mk3 weighted shifter.
It"s also been a very reliable car and has only let me down once due to a flat battery, which was my fault anyway!
Lot"s of spares to finish the car will be included in the price, including paint, stickers, side strips etc.

And now for the bad bits:
Paint is a quite poor in places, I think this will only really bother you if you plan on using the car as a show queen.
Interior is generally in quite good condition, however; the front door cards could do with changing as they"ve become water damaged due to a shrunken door membrane. I"ve since replaced these membranes.
There is also a slight rip in the drivers seat bolster.
The clutch could also do with replacing. It does however have plenty of adjustment left and is manageable
