vehicle description:
1988 Lancia Delta HF
Integrale 2.0 8v Turbo
This is a barn find car
which was pulled out of storage around 3 months ago where it was
stood for around 6 years plus.
We are selling on behalf of an
overseas owner. The car came to us right from being pulled out of the
garage to recommission back to road worthy condition so he would be
able to drive the car from the UK to Italy where he resides.
After spending a good
amount of time fixing parts and getting the car back running again
(work outlined below). The customer had a change of circumstances
with work commitments overseas and decided it was time to sell the
car.
The car is a 1998 2.0 8v version 4WD. The clock is
showing 109,000 miles.
Body
Overall the car is
clean body-wise with very minimal if any rust at all. If potential
buyers have looked at these they will know they are very common for
rust around the roof, rear window etc. which this has non. From
working underneath the car the same is said again, no rust anywhere
and looks like it has a good covering of underseal everywhere which
has saved this car. Please dont think this is a concours/perfect
example BUT it has its age related scratches/marks here and there
but I would say its one of the better ones I have seen.
The car
does look like its had a repaint in its life with some rust repairs
done (outlined in history) which again I can only add has saved this
car for rusting away.
The car will need one of
the side skirts fitting which is inside the car. It is also missing
the rear spoiler, We have scored one which we are happy to pass the
details onto potential buyers for the cost of £550.
Wheels and Tyres
The
car is fitted with 17” Compomotive alloys, could do with a paint
refurb but all in good shape. All tyres will need replacing due to
flat spots from been stood for a number of years
aswell.
Mechanical
The
car came to us as a non runner. After some work replacing parts due
to both age and being stood we have managed to get the engine running
again (work outlined below) The engine runs lumpy, we have found
invoices for remap, high lift cams aswell as a complete engine
rebuild but customer stopped work before we could confirm cam
spec/low comp pistons was causing this. We did think the fault was
with the injectors as we had these tested due to them not spraying
correct (cleaning due to old fuel in system) and was shown to be
faulty. We replaced them with good known second hand injectors which
made the lumpyness better but not cured it completely; this could be
normal (we are not Lancia Specialists) but not had time to carry on
diagnostics to find out, we can confirm compression test done and all
was good. Towards the end of our work we found fauly knock sensor, at
this point customer advised he had decided to just sell the car
before we could carry on any more work.
History
The
car has so much history I will probably miss stuff out, there is a
folder with clear sections with the year dates on, an each section is
all that years receipts for work which has been done inc photos of
work done like rust repairs. Receipts for everything from CV joints,
Waterpump, Bulbs etc
There is what looks like the original build
sheets from Lancia on the car, original sales bills etc See Photos.
