1988 Porsche 944 LUX 2.5 / 159000 MILES / T&T A rare unmolested remarkably rust free low mileage 944 that starts, runs, drives & handles beautifully. ·        Full service history / HPI clear / all MOTs back to 1998        ·        MOT expires February 2015 / currently taxed ·        Cam belt just replaced & both belts correctly tensioned / new crankshaft pulley oil seal also fitted ·        New clutch fitted at around 130000 miles ·        Nice gearbox & quiet drive chain / synchro from 1st to 2nd gear good ·        Excellent sills ·        Dash is free of cracks ·        All the electrics work other than the digital clock ·        Very good tyres:- front 4mm / rear 6mm ·        Space saver spare, pump, jack & wheel brace Since retiring, I have bought & sorted over a dozen 944s. I know the cars well & even to my accustomed eye when I buy another 944 I know that 50hrs or so of work will need to be spent sorting faults that are often overlooked even on well maintained cars. These include mirrors; heater blower switches;  non-operative central locking; wrong barrels in locks; sun roof problems; cracked dashes; scruffy seats (bought a complete set for this car); noisy fuel pump (pump replaced in this car); sticking brakes etc. etc. If sill corrosion is found to be a problem (which it often is) expect a further 30 hours work. This car has been fully sorted though I should add not much work was needed. The buyer should feel confident in expecting in the foreseeable future little expense other than running costs & routine maintenance.
