      Welcome  to my auction for this old skool  110 V8 County. Whilst the 3.5 litre V8 may not  be very eco-friendly and it is a potentially a tad thirsty, this carburettored  version of the legendary engine and the 110 wheelbase makes a great  combination. The lower mpg is more than compensated for by the deep throaty  unflustered rumble of V8 power.
       
     
       
      I  am going to run through the car from front bumper to rear towbar because there  are lots of additions and extras to mention.
      The  winch is a Champion 1200EWX and it is complete and working with remote etc. You  can check the specification easily online. The front bull bars are genuine Land  Rover as are the two spotlights mounted on it.
      All  four tyres are B F Goodrich (that name always sounds like it belongs to a  country singer who should do duets with Dolly Parton), the fronts are as good  as new and are All Terrain. The rears have at least 5 to 6 mm left and are Trac  Edge.
       
     
       
      The  roof rack is a Front Runner Expedition and again you can check this out online.  The spotlights are both Maxtec.
      You  can see the four Land Rover side steps and the rear one is also genuine.
      Inside  there are Land Rover heavy duty floor mats in excellent condition and the head  unit is a Clarion CZ2006R unit that has the massive FLI 1000W Boom box and twin  shelf mounted Vibe Slick speakers. The front seats have Land Rover covers  fitted but are in good order underneath. You can see the condition of the three  rear seats.
      The  dog guard is also genuine Land Rover but has been adapted as it should be attached  to a bulkhead.
       
     
       
      The  big container in the rear is a home made gun cabinet and whilst it is well made  it isn’t screwed down and therefore is easily removed.
      There  is a fitted working Parrot system and in the front there are additional USB  outlets and 12V adapters.
      The  towbar has twin electrics and there is also a 12V take off. The ladder and rear  guards aren’t genuine Land Rover but they are of a  good standard.
       
     
       
      The  only other point to note is that the excellent rooflining is not original so  although it is in great condition it renders the pop up sunroof redundant as  there is no hole for it!
      Finally  there is a pair of genuine Land Rover rear mudflaps fitted.
      The  car starts easily on the manual choke and drives exactly as a 110 County  should. The bodywork has some minor dents and the chassis is in excellent  order.
       
     
       
      This  car spent many years chasing hot air balloons and then towing the basket and  transporting the balloonists home, not exactly gruelling or demanding work. The  most recent owner hasn’t used it much so consequently it is now for sale.
      There is an Experian Data Check with the car showing completely clear with the exception ofa number plate change and the recent history and MOT records confirm the low mileage.
      The engine runs very well but I think is in need of some fettling. There are no misfires or any gremlins but compared to the rest of the car it looks a little neglected.
       
       
     
       
      What  I think you have here is an opportunity to buy a traditional County 110 that  is easy to work on and simply requires some TLC and a minor degree of sorting.  I’d bin the boom box and the rear speakers too and also remove the gun cabinet.  Then I’d simply give it a good couple of runs working out what was needed to  suit my own needs.
