Find out where we are Based on the successful ALFA 105 chassis the first production of the Spider Boat Tail was 1966 and amazingly the last cars produced were nearly 30 years later in 1993!
Of course Pinninfarina had again styled another iconic car that would stand the test of time and become one of the most beautiful convertibles ever produced.
In 1970 ALFA of course followed the market trend to modernise the styling and introduced the Kamm tail replacing the earlier rounded tail.
By the 1990s the styling had to be “modernised” again and federal bumper,light height regulations all played a part in the restyling.
So maybe the true original svelte beauty of the 1966 Boat tail was diluted somewhat but you end up with a modernised version of the original design that is actually as much fun to drive and has the advantages of power steering,fuel injection and far superior build quality.
Many parts are shared with the original design and you can see the similarities looking around the design.
At a third of the price of a Boat tail these 1990 models represent great value and are in some peoples view more sorted and developed.
This is a UK dealer supplied 4 owner example and has been cherished and well maintained during its life with enthusiasts and never requiring any more than routine servicing and care.
