Very rare right hand drive UK supplied and serviced Mondial T Coupe. 4 seats, The 1989 Mondial T was substantially changed from the previous model and considered a "spearhead of a new generation of V8 Ferraris". It was visually different, with redesigned air intakes, new door handles, new bumpers which became body coloured, new front and rear wings and other aesthetics, along with an upgraded interior a new gearbox and a far superior 300bhp engine, now mounted longitudinally, a configuration which was to change Ferraris of the future. This setup was used by Ferrari"s Formula One cars of the 1980s and would be the standard for the marque"s future mid-engined V8 cars, starting with the 348 introduced later that year. The Mondial"s chassis would underpin a new generation of 2-seat Ferraris, right up to the 360. The "T" layout of the engine and transaxle, adapted from Ferrari"s Formula One cars, continues to be used in mid-engined V8 model Ferraris to date. The Mondial T was the first Ferrari to offer power steering and ABS further enhancing it"s practicality and making it a very usable four seater super car. Ferrari has as not produced a mid-engined 2+2 car since! As of 2012, the V12 FF along with the V8 California are the company"s only 4-seat vehicle offerings, but both of these are front engined, leaving the Mondial t as the most modern 4-seat, mid-engined, Ferrari yet produced.
