Here we have for sale my beautiful Ferrari Mondial T cabriolet. These cars have been truly over looked until recently, they are a fantastic car that offer impressive performance and practicality as well as exclusivity and reliability. Only 51 UK RHD Mondial T"s were made, making this a very rare car with true investment potential.
Sharing the same engine and transmission as the Ferrari 348 as well as featuring active suspension makes this the pick of the Mondial bunch. This particular car is in gorgeous condition throughout and it drives extraordinarily well, the handling is fantastic due to the compliant chassis and the engine has enough power to make things entertaining whilst remaining remarkably smooth and refined when required.
Bodywork:
Finished in Rosso Corsa, the car looks gorgeous. the paint has an incredible lust to it. the panels are free from unsightly marks, dents or scratches and stone chips have been carefully touched in when required. the panel fit is superb and I am confident that the car has never seen any form of damage or repair. Crucially, this car is not corroded, it has lived with a professional storage company over the past 8 or so years which has ensured the originality has not been disturbed. All of the original stickers are still in place including the paint code sticker. the glass is all original and still has the original Ferrari stampings.
Interior:
Finished in Cream leather, it looks fantastic against the gleaming red paint work. The seats are in outstanding condition as is all other leather work. Clearly all owners including my self have used this car with care. The carpets are all original and in great condition too. Everything is completely standard inside the car except for the stereo which has been neatly replaced with a modern I-pod compatible unit. All electrics work as intended. On the road, the interior is free from annoying squeaks and rattles.
Soft top:
The soft top is in incredible condition. It truly defies its age. There are no marks or scuffs and the rear screen is nice and clear. The original tonneau cover is present and correct.
Engine:
The engine bursts into life with ease and idles very smoothly whilst displaying ideal oil pressure at all temperatures. The car runs at optimum temperature and the fan cuts in as and when required. The car is free from oil leaks and benefitted from considerable mechanical work at its last engine out cam-belt service which was carried out at a highly respected Ferrari specialist.
Included in this work was: the removal and cleaning of the engine/ sub-frame assembly, the removal and re-finishing of the cam-covers, replacement of all cam-oil seals and O-rings, new cam-cover gaskets, new end cap gaskets, new water pump and gasket, new tensioner bearings, new cam-belt, new aux" belts, fuel filters, spark plugs, oil filter, air filter, fuel lines, gear oil, engine oil, PAS oil, A/C service and re-gas.
As you can gather, this was a very comprehensive service and it ensured total reliability. this service was carried out just under 2 years ago and around 3000 miles. An annual service has just been carried out so the car is totally up-to date on its servicing.
On the road, the car performs flawlessly, the engine offers great power and makes a lovely reserved yet powerful noise from the standard and original exhaust system.
Gearbox:
The 5 speed dog leg gearbox is a joy to operate. the gear oil was changed at the last service and each gear can be selected with no issue at all. No whines or crunching can be heard or felt.
The car has just received a new clutch as well as a flywheel re-build, this is a common necessity on the Mondial T/ 348 and a job that is often neglected and avoided by many owners due to the considerable cost.
Wheels and tyres:
the original wheels are in great condition with no note worthy marks, the tyres are all high quality Goodyear items with ample tread remaining.
Brakes;
The car stops with immense power. the brake pads and discs are in great condition and the car benefitted form braided brake lines recently. On the road, the brakes pull the car up nice and true with no vibrations, judders or squeaks.
Suspension:
The car handles incredibly! Truly, the Mondial T is a well kept secret. It feels as though you can put it anywhere on the road with ease, the suspension has just enough compliance to allow you to enjoy a comfy ride whilst still staying true to its sports car requirements. On the road, the car tracks straight and no clonks, rattles or vibrations are evident.
Summary:
This is great opportunity to acquire a very well sorted, incredibly honest and loved example of a Mondial T Cabriolet. I believe this will prove to be a fantastic investment, but most importantly I am sure the new owner will have lots of fun with it.
