1991 Nissan PATROL SWB fitted with a RB30 Straight six 3.0 petrol engine (derivative of the RB28 Skyline engine if i"m not mistaken).
Where to start......
I bought this 4x4 back in march 2011 with grand hopes and dreams of turning it into a mud plugging monster......... 6 years later, here it is....... not much has changed!
I used the PATROL as a daily driver for a year and then decided to take it off the road to try and start bringing back to a reasonable standard, luckily a kind friend let me use their driveway as storage and there it has been ever since.So my hopes and dreams took a back seat as motorbikes and houses came along to steal my money and time.After feeling guilty for the last 5 and a bit years for dumping it on a friends drive, I have decided enough is enough. Life story over.
Good Bits:Has 4 wheels with air in the tyres!Chassis looks great for its age.Headlights work.Has a CD player and a CB radio.Engine was serviced (oil and filters) not long after being led up and was ran every 3-6 months until the fuel got old and I got lazy around autumn last year.Has custom stainless steel back section of exhaust (was cheaper and sounds amazing).Has all seats and carpets.I have the V5 (in my name) and a few old Mots for what its worth.Bad Bits:Small rust hole in drivers foot well near chassis point. Has been black jacked to stop it spreading.Other patches of rust around the body work, (also black jacked)Cab has been mutilated at some point. (wires everywhere bits missing, bits added).Dash doesn"t work.Engine fan was removed when I bought it so I retro-fitted an electric fan to a switch in the cab, but later threw it away to upgrade but never did.Steering worn, replaced steering box to pitman arm link but still needs track rod ends, tie bar and a steering damper.Various parts removed for access back when I had enthusiasm.Wiper motors have given up.Plus much more that I have probably forgotten since I last looked at it with a tear in my eye.So like I said in the title its a spares or repairs project. These the old K160/K260"s are very rare nowadays let alone a SWB RB30 model. The Aussies love these trucks as they are great for off roading, simple and strong.Shame on me for neglecting it.
Please don"t offer me a swap with a 2 berth caravan or an L reg Transit, I know what these engines are worth alone.
