1992 Land Rover Discovery 3 door 200tdi RARE GENUINE BARN FIND!
Welcome to my auction!
This Discovery is a genuine barn find - it"s literally just been towed out of a ladies barn and been given a wash!
As you are probably aware 3 door Discoveries are getting pretty rare nowadays, I was going to keep this one and restore it however I"ve decided to sell as realistically I don"t really have the time to do it.
So here we have it, it"s been stood in a barn since mid 2012, overall the vehicle is in good condition considering it"s 24 years old. It starts, stops and drives!
The engine is sweet and runs like clockwork, no smokes, coughs or rattles. I think it will need a new alternator as it squeals occasionally but that"s about it.
The chassis is in great condition and very solid, no rot or holes just a little minor surface corrosion, ideal for a quick rub down and coating with a bit of chassis paint.
The axles and running gear are also in great condition, the axle casings are a little rusty but she drives really well, gears all select nicely too.
The interior is not in too bad shape either, the seats are plump and comfy and all the plastic interior is still in place. It"s a little grubby with a few bits of wear and tear here and there but a good shampoo and a few bits replaced would bring it up to scratch I"m sure.
Rust...
We all know old Discoveries suffer from the dreaded tin worm, this one has suffered in the usual places but to be fair I"ve seen a lot worse. The front and rear inner arches are rusted, the sills will require a patch as will one of the rear body mounts. The roof has rusted through in two places but again nothing a little welding and paint can"t sort out.
Other than that, the bodywork is pretty good, there"s a bit of bubbling on one rear arch and a small scrape on the drivers side but the paint and plastics are in good condition, there"s even an original factory fitted bull bar and headlight guards. There"s also a Toad alarm system fitted.
I"ve tried to be as honest as possible, this Discovery is very original and overall in pretty good shape. I"m happy to answer any questions or send any further pictures to anyone.
Cash on collection only from just outside Bristol, will require trailering or trade plates as there"s no mot on it. Thanks for looking!
