Up for grabs is my 1992 Rover Mini Sprite.I bought the Mini in October as a project / stop gap, with the intentions to do all the work to then sell on.
I have recently completed a 3000 mile road trip through Snow and Ice in Scandinavia, proving its reliability!
Everything in RED needs attention,Everything in GREEN is new / good.
Engine Bay:-Fitted is the standard Rover 1275 engine with a 4 speed manual box.There seems to be a leak from the thermostat housing and gasket, its Minimal though.There seems to be a little bit of clutch slip when in forth gear when accelerating hard uphill, its hardly noticeable but i thought i would mention it.  It"s had a new distributor fitted.
Body Work:-Generally pretty good, with no major bumps or rust patches.The previous owner chose the colors and done the re-spray himself, its reasonable, i"d be happy with it, but others may not so i would suggest you take a look in person.There is a little surface rust appearing on the drivers rear arch at the bottom, but nothing too off putting.. There is also a little split appearing on the drivers side rear under bumper panel (as pictured)The front spot lights are not wired up.Has a nice straight through exhaust system fitted.Ive fitted brand new MiniLite alloys and tires along with spaces.Its also had new headlights and window wiper arms and blades.
The chrome work looks new too.
Boot:-Boot and battery tray are both solid, the inside boot has not been sprayed and has over spray (as pictured)Ive fitted new carpets in the boot too.
Inside:-When i bought the Mini it came some sorry seats and that"s about it.Ive fitted a new custom made dash, which i have color coded, its fitted with a stereo (requires on/off switch to preserve battery) and the original speedo and fuel gauge .Ive completely stripped the inside and gave it a coat of a special liquid latex to prevent corrosion.Ive fitted a brand new under felt kit to sound proof.Ive also fitted a brand new full carpet set with match car mats and parcel shelve.Ive had the front and rear seats custom made and also matching door panels with wooden backs,they feature a diamond stitched base with red pipe work and an extra thick padding (they are very comfy!)Ive also fitted new handbrake and gear gaitors to match the seats & fitted a new gear stick.It also comes with a brand new steering wheel that has quick release.The seat belts & handbrake grip have over spray from when the previous owner sprayed the car, they all work but look untidy.The drivers side door has the stay open catch missing, the door works fine, but just doesn"t stay open.The heater gets warm, but only blows into the foot wells due to the deflecting plates missing inside the heater box.
Paper work:-The Mini comes with its V5 (in my name).It also comes with MOT until September 2016!It also comes with a vinyl wallet with a bit of history.
Other bits:-Before my road trip the Mini went in for a full service, during the service they noticed the rear subframe has a split in it.
With it being short notice (day before i was due to go) i knocked up a custom bracket made from 8mm hardox as a support.
I had time to inspect the subframe, in my opinion it can be repaired by cutting and re-welding new steel into it (if you"re hands on) With the mot not being until September, the hardox bracket will keep it from splitting further.I also have some wider arches that come with the car along with a big box of spares and parts that"ll be including in the sale too.
The Mini drives very well and looks the part tooIt was never intended for keeps, i bought it as a stop gap and a short project until i had enough money saved for a new car.
Ive spent over £1000 on all the work!It does feel like a brand new car when sat inside.
I would highly recommend viewing due to the cars age!
