Subaru IMPREZA for Sale – 1993 WRX JAP IMPORT – rare silver 262 code I have owned this car for 6 years but now need to sell due to family commitments. Car was imported in 2000 and converted to MPH at first UK sale – 94,992KM converted to 59,038 miles. The mileage current is 110,000 demonstrating less that 4k a year since in the UK.   During this time it has been well looked after with considerable service history both from Japan and through the previous owners and myself regularly changing oil and filter approx. every 4,000 miles always using Mobil super S 10W40 The car benefits from a Toad AI606 CAT 1 alarm with Thatcham certs for your insurance company along with the following upgrades / recent parts: ·         Green Air Filter ·         3” Exhaust system from the turbo back including sports cat and single box – Please note that this is very loud and not to everyone’s liking ·         Baily piston Dump valve ·         A subtle remap verified as a Polar performance map which during a RR session helped achieve a 276 BHP & 220lb torque with a safe AFR’s as mapped for Super Unleaded. ·         Walbro uprated in tank fuel pump ·         Turbo timer ·         Very strong Engine and turbo, pulls exceptionally well with full timing belt and all tensioners changed out in the last 12 months. Gearbox is nice and tight along with the whole drive train, no noises / vibrations present and is working perfectly, ideal for winter conditions ·         Later 4 pot Caliper upgrade incuding a recent rebuild with Stainless Steel pistons and new seals etc ·         Steel braided brake hoses all round and new rear discs, pads and shoes fitted in last couple of months  with Motul RBF600 brake fluid ·         Externally the car has a number of subtle upgrades including STI rear lights, clear lenses all round, 17” OZ Super Leggas and STI Fog lamp covers and a less subtle rear wing from a later model.. ·         Also to note that the interior is in very very good condition with a slight wear on drivers side bolster only. The car has all the normal IMPREZA options such as 4 x power windows, Central locking, Electric Mirrors and AC that blows nice and cold when required and hot to heat the cabin / demist in moments from start up in the cold mornings Unfortunately there are also a number of bad points with the car which I will be as honest as possible with explaining and can provide additional photos / details if required. ·         Sadly registered as a Cat C after a very minor rear end shunt back in 2010. The only evidence of this is a very small crease by the spare wheel well and the boot only opens on the key and not the internal cable. I have photos to show the actual damage which I personally disputed the assessors verdict. Please do not let this put you off this car ·         A year later sadly on a dark evening the car encountered a cyclist head on whilst turning right. This incident resulted in a cracked windscreen, small dent on bonnet lip (Aluminium bonnet), cracked paint on front bumper and scratch on nearside wing which other than fitting a brand new Windscreen all other scars are still present. Sadly a few months after the windscreen was fitted whilst traveling on the motor way the drivers side trim cover running the length of the car lifted by the windscreen and bent over which I had to remove as was creased. This has not been replaced, it doesn’t act as a seal / weatherstrip, it is purely cosmetic ·         In addition to the above “scars” there is a small rust patch on passenger door by mirror and the bottom of the boot lid is starting to bubble slightly in areas. No rust at all underneath / wings etc – a very sound car. ·         The Toyo Proxes will very soon need replacing on all four corners ·         The clutch has a very high biting point but has been like this for over two years, It has never slipped. I only list this as I want to be as honest as possible with this advert. I have not tried bleeding the system so it may be as simple as that. ·         Power steering is a little “lumpy” when system cold which may indicate the rack seals may need replacing but once warm works as it should. Note there is a slight weep of PS fluid between the reservoir and PS pump (a common IMPREZA issue I believe) ·         The Pink Subaru oval grill badge was sadly removed without my permission one night… ·         Finally the MoT expired end of October I wish I had the time to address the cosmetic issues on this car as it is a beautiful example of the first year WRX and really does turn heads . It has never let me down and been the most reliable car I have ever owned. I have invested a lot of money into the car during my ownership ensuring that the mechanicals were looked after and serviced with only Subaru or OEM supplied parts. I honestly believe that it will fly through the MoT and with a new set of tyres in the next couple of months will put a huge smile on the new owners face as it has done for me during the last 6 years!
