Selling this car is something I never thought I would do, and a big part of me really does not want to write this now. It"s my dream car and is seriously the best car I"ve ever owned. Anyone thinking of buying one should just do it, it"s worth it. I saved up for 6 years for this one, and it hasn"t disappointed me at all. Having said that things in my life now mean I need to sell the car, and offer someone else the amazing experience that I"ve had.
So, the car. It"s a 1996 4.0 TVR Chimaera, originally Ruby Red Mica but now painted in Alfa Romeo Etna Black Pearl. The paintwork looks good, deep black in most lights,, but with a deep red/purple tinge in the sunlight. It"s impressive to say the least. As you"d expect on a car of this age, there are the odd marks, scratches and stone chips on there, the worst of which is on the NSF wing, but these don"t detract from the overall look. On the front it has been upgraded to Tuscan style lights which really modernise the look and improve night vision, and the rear has Cerbera style.
The interior lets the car down slightly. It"s black leather and although the seats, dash and console are all fine, the carpets could be better fitted. The roof is excellent though, fits really nicely, folds away well and does not leak.
The engine is really strong, pulls very well in every gear and makes not funny noises or creates any smoke. It always starts first time, and holds good oil pressure hot or cold. It"s fitted with the T5 gearbox and this is strong, changes well and the clutch feels fine. The diff is the GKN but has no play and feels fine. I have receipts for an uprated cam, Tornado ECU chip and bigger AFM and the engine has had shorter inlet trumpets to improve mid range torque. 
Wheels are the correct TVR Imola style 15 front and 16 rear with very good Avon tyres.
Onto the big one....the chassis. It"s well known and documented that the chassis, in particular the outriggers are a known weak point on these cars. I"ve had mine up on the ramp at work and it does seem fine. A good prod, poke and peer up into all the nooks and crannies and nothing went crunch! Sure it"s dusty, dirty and in places the coating has flaked a bit but it"s VERY solid and won"t require any welding for the foreseeable future. Some of you may notice the lack of exhaust in the photos, I removed it to sleeve the silencer but decided against it as it"s not to everyones  taste.
I do have a lot of history and receipts for the car including some servicing by racing green. The original handbook has quite a few stamps in it too. The car has had 1000"s spent on it during it"s life and has obviously been loved by it"s owners. It"s showing 53000 on the clock but has had a replacement speedo, current mileage is around 90000 and although this is high for a TVR, please don"t let that put you off. It"s a well used car not a garage queen, and all those annoying faults that happen with barely used cars have already happened and been fixed.
It"s important to note that the car is HPI clear and has not been involved in any crashes etc.
I"m starting the listing at 99p so everyone can have a chance at owning this amazing car. It"s the right time of year and with TVR coming back as a company now is the time to get one before prices shoot up. My loss could be your gain.
