This is your chance to have some fun this summer! This BRG MGF is worth a good few hundred pounds of anyone’s money. It is not perfect or pristine, but starts and runs well, is economical, and cleans up respectably though the scratches and dents you can see in the picture (courtesy of careless neighbours...) are limited to a few areas.
There are some bad bits: no bonnet release: you have to pull a cable tie through the front grill for now!  There are a couple of worn bits on the seat piping, (half leather), the instrument pod is cracked a little and the sun-visor extensions are missing (common on these).
I have no idea about the mechanicals but it didn’t need much doing for the MOT last time round. There are no obvious defects, it drives and handles well and stops efficiently. It has a new battery.
There is no hard top and it leaks around the windows if you don’t shut them up carefully.
The inside cleans up well, everything seems to work OK except no cigarette lighter.
The short story is that I have owned it for a couple of years for playing around in good weather (driving around the French countryside) and has done a couple of stints of everyday transport. I am going off to work in Thailand again in the next few weeks and I don’t want to store it, unused, for the next 18 months or so. I will buy another one the same when I get back! (This is my second identical MGF, bought off EBay)
The hood is good, with a clear plastic rear window, tyres and alloy wheels are in good condition, no aerial; the radio needs the code re-entering.
I have set a low reserve and it is a short auction-it must be picked up promptly after auction ends as I leave for Thailand soon and it will be inconvenient to arrange someone else to handle the collection-payment.
Please bid in the true spirit of EBay, knowing that this is an old car and that, whilst it is in good running order now, it will need some TLC to keep it that way!
