                 This is my TROOPER 3.1 off-roader, I was offered it a few years back so bought it and used it as a bit of a runaround for a while, at the end of last year my friend bought a discovery and we decided to build off-readers to do some green laneing, it was a good solid truck to use as base, so I stripped the underside back to the metal acid stripped it and then gave it a coat of hammerite, I then completely sealed it with 3M rubberised underbody sealant, all the running gear and stealing components were wire brushed off and again sealed with hammerite, then the sway and antyroll bar were removed and replaced with polly bushes, due to the cost of TROOPER suspension I did a bit of research and found out that with a little work you could convert them over to Land Rover defender suspension, so off came all the old and on went a full set of +3 pro-comp shocks and springs, then with the help of fleabay along came a snorkel so the air box was stripped out and the snorkel fitted, I then managed to find a lovely set of half leather high sided seats from a Peugeot 307cc as the original seats were quite warn out, the colour match is great and very comfortable and supportive, the speakers were shot so a trip to halfords sorted that and came away with 4 new speakers, I then managed to find a very rare set of roof bars so got them right on there, with the suspention sorted the tyres were next, after having had a set of general grabber AT2"s fitted to a Navara a few years back they were great so they were the obvious choice so on went a set of 285/70/16"s with a new modular spare as swell, although this truck has an abundance of grunt the next job was the EGR valve to help the engine breath better so off came the complete EGR system and a set of blanking plates were made and what a difference this made, with the twin battery setup a winch was next on the agender, along with all this I"ve regularly done the servicing myself     As I said the TROOPER was a great starting point with no rust and a great engine, there were a few little dents that were on it when I bought it, it is in really great shape for a 18 year old truck with a strong engine, we have only been green laneing 3 times and it was easy going with no strain at all on a truck this capable........I"m now selling the TROOPER as my friend has now sold his discovery......... so on with the next project.
