vehicle description:

1997 Mitsubishi SHOGUN 2.8 GLX Turbo-Diesel (LWB)
Long MOT (March 2016)Runs and drives really wellElectric Sunroof, 4xWindows, Central Locking Over £1000 work/maintenance within last 18 Months, including exhaust centre section & brake calipers.Chassis professionally welded for last MOTGood tyresSpare key, handbook and original toolkit present
I bought the SHOGUN from my neighbour, who was a doctor and used the car for visiting patients in rural areas. He also used it for a 350 mile commute for a few months whilst working in London and has mentioned several times that not once did it ever let him down. It"s fantastic and comfortable to drive and I too have used it on more than one occasion to get me to/from London and it performed flawlessly. I briefly messed around off-road just once and experimented with the centre and rear differential locks/low range, all of which seem to work just as they should. The bodywork and interior are at best, average. The paint and panels all appear original so it has several dinks and scratches and there are some rust scabs and bubbling around the panel edges. The car required an MOT when I acquired it, upon which it was found to have some corrosion to both sides of the rear chassis sections, an exhaust leak and another re-con brake caliper (other side was replaced last year) so I had this work undertaken professionally, to a good standard. I have receipts for this as well as £500 worth of work that my neighbour had done last year. The interior is finished in grey velour, most of which is in good condition however the drivers seat has a small tear on the side of the seat base (which could easily be repaired). The lid/cover of the centre stowage compartment is missing and although the original radio/cassette player works, it"s seen better days! It has two additional rear seats in the back which fold down to make the SHOGUN a full seven-seater. Taking it steady, I can achieve 30mpg from it on a run although it will happily sit at 80mph if you wanted to. It hasn"t required the topping up of coolant or oil in around 2000 miles whilst in my ownership and every time, starts immediately on the button. It has electric windows front and rear, a full sized electric sunroof and central locking, all of which are fully functional. As mentioned, it has the original toolkit, its owners manual and a spare key present. Very little history with it but I have no reason to disbelieve my neighbour who needed a reliable car for his occupation and had it serviced religiously by a local mechanic. To summarise, it"s a cheap and cheerful, no-frills, capable and ultra-dependable 4x4 that has at least a couple of years left in her. It is what it is if you know what I mean! It doesn"t pretend to be pretty or anything fancy but I bet it would give most modern 4x4"s a run for their money off-road! If it wasn"t that I need something slightly more frugal for my job/commute, I would happily keep running it so reluctantly, I must move it on.
Due to it"s age and that she is looking a bit tired, I"m not going to accept any offers until the car has been viewed. My lowest/best price before you ask, is what it makes or what you offer if you come to see it so otherwise, please don"t ask. I"m happy to discuss any questions/queries you may have but i"m busy at work and potentially most evenings so PLEASE, don"t mess me around. Ideally, cash on collection or bank transfer but until funds are cleared, the car will be staying put. The V5c Registration document is present, in my name and states that i"m the fouth owner.
Thanks for looking.Jamie 07739 103651
