1998 Jeep Cherokee 2.5 TD Sport (XJ) in Blue for SPARES OR REPAIRI"ve had this Jeep for a couple of years and it worked great for a while, albeit with a nasty oil leak. Then one day while driving down the motorway, the oil sump dumped a load of oil out and the engine stopped for good. I bought a replacement 1999 model, and for the last year it has been sat in the yard as I thought I"d use it for spares for the new truck. But the new truck has been working well and the only thing I"ve needed to take out is a small side window and the gas struts from the boot. If I get time, I"ll remove the ignition barrel too as that has stopped working on the new one. However, I need the space in the yard now so it has to go. Unfortunately while in the yard, it got hit by another vehicle and there is now dent in the boot (will put photo up soon), and the rear nearside light has been smashed.
Basically, it wants taking away (either by tow, although the brakes aren"t great, or ideally on a trailer) to break for parts some more or repair and get it back on the road.
Has a tow bar. It had new leaf springs fitted when I got it, and these are still in good condition. These cost £300 and would be worth buying the Jeep just for them. No MOT and currently declared SORN.
