1998 Land Rover Defender 90 300tdi Utility Mileage: 91,700 MOT: July 2015 Service History: Full Condition: Very Good Description: Rear windows were installed and forward facing, folding rear seats fitted by the previous owner. I have since removed the rear seats but they will be included in the sale and could very easily be refitted into the vehicle. I purchased the Defender in 2012 and since then have carried out the following work: At 90,700 miles: Due to a smoking issue, the engine was completely stripped and rebuilt, with the block re-bored, refaced and pressure tested by Turner Engineering. ALL internal components were replaced so the engine is now effectively brand new and has only covered around 1000 miles since.New cylinder head fitted.Original turbo reconditioned by TurboForce.Diesel injectors refurbished by Diesel Bob.Timing and serpentine belts replaced.Fuel filter replaced.Gearbox replaced with a rebuilt exchange from Bristol Transmissions.Transfer gearbox input shaft and rear flange seals replacedNew Clutch, clutch fork and release bearings.New Clutch master and slave cylinders.Rear brake lines replaced.New Radiator.New Oil cooler pipes.New header tank.Radius arm chassis-end bushes replaced.MOT passed with only two advisories:Slight corrosion on front brake lines.Header tank cap did not tighten correctly – This has now been replaced. At 91,500 miles: Engine oil replaced (Millers running in oil was used for the first 800 miles after the engine rebuild).Oil filter replaced.New Fuel tank fitted.Chassis stripped and repainted using Bilt Hamber Dynax S50.  Prior to the above, the following items have also been replaced with new parts: Toad AI606 Alarm and immobiliser professionally installed by a Toad approved dealer.Remote central locking fitted with the Toad alarm.New exhaustNew SuperGaz suspension kit fitted (springs and dampers all round).New suspension bushes.New brake disks and pads.New folding side-steps.Rear cross member replaced with a HD rear cross member from Blacksheep offroad.   Considering that this is a 17 year old vehicle, I would describe the condition as very good. The front bulkhead is solid and the bodywork is in very good condition, with some minor oxidisation and light scratches as would be expected for a vehicle of this age.   Viewings are welcome and positively encouraged, and can be arranged on weekday evenings in Abingdon, Oxfordshire or at any time over the weekend. Due to the darker nights, with enough notice, I may also be able to arrange a viewing in during the day in the week.
