vehicle description:

Up for sale is my 5 door Rover 200VI which I bought from the original owner on the 18/09/2014.The original owner bought it from a Rover dealer in Amsterdam on the 22/07/1998 and it was registered in the U.K. on the 11/08/1998. The delay in registering was so it had an S reg rather than an R.He bought it from Amsterdam due to it being cheaper than buying in the UK. It is a 100% UK specification car, all the manuals etc are in English and it is exactly the same as a U.K. car.It does show on the V5 as being used overseas, but obviously this was only for the short trip to the ferry from the dealer! On arrival in the U.K. The car was wax oiled, including the wheel arches, sills and inside the doors.
It was used for a year and then put it away in his garage, being used very occasional for the next 15 years. Over its 16 year life it has covered 13275 which won"t change a great deal.
The original owner had a garage/MOT station and did any servicing himself. There are two stamps in the service book, one at 5k miles and one at 10k miles when the cam belt was changed. This was some time ago but I have inspected the belt and it looks fine. The head gasket has never been changed and shows no signs of needing doing. The car will tick over all day and the fan cuts in and out as it should, the coolant is nice and clean.
I have the original hand book with all manuals, two keys/fobs, the original invoice for the car, and eight MOT"s. The V5 is in my name at my address.
The car has the following optional extras: CD changer under the passenger seat, front mud flaps and carpet floor mats.
Being the VI it has a high standard specification over the standard car with electric windows/sun roof/ mirrors, remote central locking, 143bhp VVC engine etc etc. If you are looking at this car then you know what it is!
The car has always been garaged and the condition really is outstanding. Don"t confuse this with a one elderly owner car that has been bumped and done endless short journeys. The bodywork is almost perfect with only a few small stone chips. The panels and paint are 100% original with no signs of repairs. There is surface rust on some of the suspension components and brackets in the engine bay but it is minimal for a car of this age.The tyres are the original Dunlops which are hardly worn but have got some surface cracks now. The wheels are totally unmarked and are like new.The discs and pads on the front/rear are original and showing little wear. The brake callipers still have the gold coloured plating on them! The exhaust is original with some surface rust but is solid.I have not cleaned the engine bay or "tarted" the car up in anyway. No items have been painted or restored, it is totally original. The spare wheel is unused and the tool kit is still in the cellophane wrapper. The clock has all of its pixels, which is unusual for one of these cars.
The interior shows hardly any signs of wear, the floor mats hardly look like there has been a foot on them!
The car starts and drives perfectly. The brakes, steering, clutch, gearbox and engine are all perfect. It goes really well and is surprisingly quick.
The only modifications from standard are a K and N air filter in the original air box and an aluminium throttle body as the plastic originals have a habit of sticking.
The Rover 200 VI was a rare car when they were new. A 5 door VI in this condition is unheard of, I would say that my car is one of a kind in this condition. I doubt you could find any model of Rover 200/25 or MGZR with this mileage and in this condition.
The car has been put away in the garage and will only come out for someone who is serious about buying it. I will not get the car out in the rain!
Once a deal has been agreed I will MOT the car and get it serviced.
I have stacks of photos so can send close up photos of any part of the car.
Viewing is in Rugby, please message me with any questions.
This car will need an enthusiast to buy it, if I can"t find the right person then it will stay in my garage.
