Welcome to our auction for ‘Jenny’ our Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0 Auto
 
We have had her for just over two years and she has been a great car for us but we are now changing for a Grand Cherokee. She is a 1998 R Reg in Black with 152,417 on the clock (she is still in use so this may go up a little bit). Taking into account her age and mileage she is in excellent condition and the exterior has recently been treated to a full body black carnuba wax treatment; as you can see in the pictures there is no fading of the black paintwork. There are a couple of minor scuffs around the body work as you would expect on a car of this age. She had a new MOT on the 25th of March this year.

Previous owner scratched the windscreen

To give a bit more info on the above, it looks like a previous owner has scratched the screen while cleaning it or scraping ice. I had this looked at by a local specialist who has carefully treated the glass to reduce the effect of these. Now doesn’t cause any issues and has never been commented on at MOT.
There is a centre roof console that holds the trip computer, sunglasses holder etc. This one has separated slightly from the roof lining. Is still secure and has never bothered me.
 
Other than that she is a really straight honest car. Looking at her history she was originally owned by a bank as a company car so has had a fairly easy life. Last year I replaced the old corroded alloys with the lovely 5 spoke grey special editionJeep alloys on it in the pictures. The spare is also the same so there is a full set of five. Tyre treads are good, as I only do an average of 4 thousand miles a year three of them have been listed as advisories on the most recent MOT as starting to perish due to age as opposed to mileage but there still have plenty of life left in them. There is a radio cassette which was working fine but is now asking for the code, I will try to get this from Jeep for the new owner if possible. This is a 4litre petrol so she is not the most economical car but I regularly get 25mpg from her which really surprised me! She has a blue cloth interior with a full set of headrests and is great condition (doesn’t show the wear and age as the leather interiors do!)
