1999 S1 Lotus Elise Sport 135 (factory built)
#36 of the original 50 factory built Sport 135s (chassis number ending 5436). One of the rarest S1 Elise models and guaranteed future investment. Low miles: 31300. MOT’d November 2018 with no advisories. Ideally a quick sale preferred so offers considered.
Original 135 spec (including: Sport 135 head, VVC inlet plenum and larger throttle body, PG1 close-ratio gearbox, cast-iron drilled discs, Quicksilver paint, dark blue soft top, Corbeau seats, suede motorsport steering wheel, silver roll bar, headlamp covers, driving spot lights, Sport 135 decals)
Other subtle upgrades include: oil cooler, aluminium radiator, front aluminium belled discs, Pagid RS14 race pads, Goodridge stainless brake lines, Magnex stainless steel complete system including larger bore 4-2-1 manifold, S1 Exige yellow Koni adjustable coilovers, Nylatron ARB bushes, Polybush engine/gearbox mounts, upgraded gear linkages and bushes both gearstick and gearbox ends, lightweight aluminium crankshaft pulley, Magnecor ignition leads 8.5mm Red KV85, 82° thermostat, Pipercross induction kit (original airbox supplied)
Recent notable work: 4 new Toyo T1R tyres, NGK Lambda sensor, Timken wheel bearings, hub flanges, Ertacetal Wishbone Bushes and stainless sleeves with new fastenings, inner and outer toe link joints, all ball joints, front caliper rebuilds, brake fluid flush, distributor rotor arm and cap, genuine Rover oil filled main engine mount, clutch trunnion bush, reverse light switch, engine and gearbox oil change.
Overall, well looked after and maintained. The 135 engine and PG1 gearbox, in my opinion, offers the best mix of performance and driveability at low speeds across the Elise range. Starts effortlessly and idles perfectly hot or cold. Rarely used during the last 4+ years. V5 present and both keys and immobiliser fobs supplied.
