vehicle description:
TVR CHIMAERA4.0 v8 1999 V registered
This was bought by me two years ago and it was my plan to
keep it forever !!!!
unfortunately i work six months
away and my family is steadily getting
bigger and the wife thinks a motorhome would be more practical than a TVR !!!
I will upload some more pictures once I get home, the picture shows it withought the light surrounds fitted back on
The car has 2 months MOT (maybe longer i will check when i
get home at the weekend) and 9 moths TAX (tax can"t be transferred with car
anymore DVLA rules)
The person I bought the car from had damaged the car in a
low speed accident (driving in the wet) the damage was cracked wing front panel
and bonnet , the damage was minimal (no chassis or mechanical damage) but the
car was written off Category C , (picture of the car before I bought it and
before the damage is on the spotted
supercars website) the car was repaired for less than 500 pounds and Vic
checked and given the new log book, the basis for the write off is that there just
isn"t any skilled fibre glass repair garages anymore and most new cars are just
bolt on bolt off parts most TVR"s are written of completely now with very minor
damage this has been a big discussion on Piston Heads...
the paint job when I bought it wasn"t the best (hard to paint silver metallic
) so it has been professionally painted by a local car company , (see CJ"S car clinic on face book for pictures
)
the car also had new
brakes and pads all round when I bought it (done less than 1000 miles
since buying it)
Work done since I
have owned it :
Full re-spray £1000
Full top end rebuild,
removal of KC cam and replaced with RPI fast road cam (old cam with car) £600
Kent Cams Vernier
adjustable(set standard but can be changed) timing gears and chain £210
full Gaz Gold
Coilover adjustable suspension (been on road
3 times since fitting) £1000
Exhaust middle box
replaced with 2 x cherry bomb 24 glass packs much better sound than 2 into
1 £300
New battery just
fitted not been on road since fitting
2 x Bad boy recaro
style seats fitted (as on ebay black and greys £1000)
4 x Multispoke Alloys
(£670 plus tyres)
xenon headlight kit
£180
Throttle cable + plus
various other bits and bobs
The car on the whole is very good but does have some areas
that still need addressing, my plan was to have the car completely stripped and
rebuilt but I just don"t have the time or money as my wife keeps finding
something far more important to spend the money on, like kitchens and carpets
the rear window need replacing as it has gone cloudy and has
a split, a company on eBay is replacing them for £150 so not a real big
expense, rest of the hood is ok
boot carpet could do with replacing or a good valet
drivers seat not sliding properly, this is my fault as when
i fitted the seats i used stainless bolts instead of the original steels bolts,
the originals where normal bolt heads but the ones i fitted are allen heads and
a bit taller so they catch the top runner, another job i was going to do when
the weather improves
electric mirrors don"t work (common TVR fault ) drivers side
mirror has been repaired at some point
Immobiliser is temperamental its the push in key type and
sometimes it doesn"t allow you to start, it happens every now and again and you
have to lock the car and try again after a couple of minutes, had it into auto
electrician and it"s a sticking relay apparently this is common on the old Meta
alarms, unfortunately this alarm is not available to buy anymore so my plan was
to have a full new system fitted (was my
next planned job along with the rear screen)
the car comes with the original owners pack , the service
history is not up to date but you can see the engine is immaculate and clean /
well looked after I will also find out the receipts for the work
I had done, most of the items you can see visually, I also have loads of spare
parts I have been amassing over the last year that are available at extra cost ,
most parts for this car are ford parts and are readily available quite cheap,
the engine is a rover 4.0 v8 standard block and crank with standard TVRengineering heads upgrade
I need to sell this ASAP so I am open to offers , don"t
expect a brand new car !! this is a TVR and as with all TVR"s is made of 90
percent black mastic and fibreglass !! car is currently insured taxed and has mot
so came and have a look / test drive, please don"t come and mess me around, the
car is advertised cheap enough already, old p reg models with rotten chassis go
for 7-8 grand, this car doesn"t have a rotten chassis or outriggers........please
only bid if you are genuine
Part Ex welcome I am looking for a motorhome / motor home this is the main reason
I am selling !!
Any question please call or text me 07880 558151
