Land Rover Defender 110 TD5 High capacity pick up.
This Defender was bought new by the National Trust (You can still make out National Trust - Merseyside on the doors). It"s been in private hands for a few years now.
I bought the vehicle from a guy who had bought it as a project. He"d underestimated quite how bad the chassis had gotten. Since then, it"s been rebuilt onto a BRAND NEW GENUINE Land ROVER CHASSIS. The chassis was bought from a Land Rover dealer who had the last remaining stock of TDCI chassis. It"s then had the TD5 engine and gearbox mounts welded on by a professional fabricator and the whole thing given a good coat of chassis black paint.
While it was in pieces it"s had any other issues addressed, including but not limited to:
New injector loom
New A frame ball joint
New bushes on trailing arms and Radius Arms
All new brake pipes
Brakes checked
New front prop
New fuel pump
Seats refurbished
Doors repaired
Lower steering column
There"s probably lots more i"ve forgotten.
Prior to my ownership it had a brand new AMC cylinder head (If you google it you"ll find they"re an upgraded part with a much thicker casting around the Injector ports to prevent cracking that causes the usual diesel in the oil problems TD5"s have.
As you can see from the pictures, the bodywork has its fair share of marks and dents but it"s a working Land Rover, it"s solid where it matters and still looks presentable.
I will put a new MOT on it before it leaves and rectify anything it might fail on.
