Hi and welcome to the sale of my lovely but underused Saab Turbo convertible.
I bought this car on a whim, last August and love it to bits, but I"m just not using it enough to make it worth keeping and a change in my personal circumstances has led me to sell off some (most) of my fleet and projects!
This is the Aero HOT model and as such, has all the bells and whistles you could wish for, married to the 205 horse Turbo motor and the incomparable GM/Aisin-Warner 3 range automatic transmission.
Some of the benefits include parking sensors, electric memory seats, plusher black leather seats, boot mounted cd stacker etc. The trip computer works perfectly and has its full complement of pixels, the electric arial works as does everything else, with the exception of the electric mirrors, the heating works in them but the mirror activation doesn"t, this may be a simple as a fuse or it may be more, i"ve not investigated. The aircon is ice cold.
There is a stamped service history to 148k with all but the last 2 stamps being from the selling dealer, the MOT is to 23/10/2015 and the car is currently taxed (though under the new rules this will lapse as soon as its sold) and insured so road tests are possible, just bring proof of insurance! Whilst on the subject of road tax, it actually pays to buy a pre 2001 model of this car since the tax on a post 2001 HOT model is TWICE as much as this earlier car! If the MOT is too short for you, I will happily give it a fresh one for an additional £50, I"m that confident!
Since in my care it has had 3 new tyres (1 only 6 weeks ago) new front discs and pads, a new battery and a replacement fuel pump. It starts first time, every time, pulls smoothly and strongly, just as it should and the autobox is smooth and quiet. I was told by the previous owner (also a mechanic) that the turbo was replaced at about 80k but I have no evidence for this. All the handbooks and tools are present, there is a spare key and the V5 is in my name.
So whats wrong with it?  The list is pretty short, there are a couple of scuffs on the rear bumper (despite the radar) a couple of tiny marks in the paint on the passenger door, the mirrors don"t work as mentioned above and there is a small crack in the offside top corner of the screen, this does not affect the MOT and cannot get any bigger. I"ve not bothered with it since I don"t have glass cover on my insurance and you don"t really notice it from inside! There is also a small plastic tube cracked on the engine breather, i"ve not tried to source one but I can"t imagine it would be expensive. By coincidence I also have an 02 SE for breaking and the tube is cracked on that one too, must be a common fault!
