vehicle description:

welcome to the auction of my much loved family car. It was bought new for my wife as a Christmas present in December of 2001 and she used it without problems as a school runaround for our kids. The only time it went out of our town was on the odd occasion when I used it for work. After the kids left school, she decided to stop driving and the car was laid up in the garage for a few years with the intention of using it when my daughter was old enough to learn to drive. When my fathers old jalopy needed changing, I offered him the use of the Daewoo on the proviso that when my daughter was old enough to drive, it would return to her. He had to register as the keeper for the insurance (it wasn"t necessary but gave more discount on the premium). When my daughter was old enough to drive the ownership was transferred to her name and she used the car to learn to drive. After passing her test, she used it to commute to University (this was the hardest work the little car had) until she moved away and replaced it with a newer car. Again it was laid up until my son needed a car, he used it for work until he got another car and last year it was parked up while I decided what to do with it.After much deliberation, I have decided to let "Mickey the Matiz" go, where he can hopefully carry on for many more miles of service to someone, my daughter is getting married next year and any cash generated from the sale will go into the wedding fund. 3 previous registered keepers (but only one owner) my wife, my father and my daughter. Low mileage, very reliable and tidy, good tyres, reasonable bodywork, all servicing has been carried out at the scheduled intervals including timing belt, water pump and tensioners, brake fluid, coolant (the list is endless). The service book has not been kept up to date as many of the jobs were carried out either by an independent garage or myself (fully trained). It is 14 and a half years old so displays some wear and tear although it is still very good, panels are straight but it is not concours,
The bad bitsHe doesn"t have an MOT at the moment, the front exhaust pipe corroded where it joins the catalytic converter. This was temporarily repaired by a breakdown company but this will need to be replaced before obtaining an MOT. I have bought the correct, type approved one with the intention of fitting it, but have not had the time. I can include this in the sale for the discounted price of an additional £60 if the successful buyer wishes (cost me £110) Has some corrosion (not holed) along the bottom of the passenger front door and at the rear of each side sill (see pictures).I have listed as spares or repairs simply as he has no MOT, in my opinion he is too good to break and I"m sure would serve someone as an ideal first car (insurance is very cheap in comparison)
You can come and have a look before the auction finishes, but please be aware that when a bid is submitted, it is with the intention of buying. No negotiation will be entered into after the auction end.
The car is currently declared SORN, so not to be driven on the road without trade plates or alternatively trailered. Starts and runs.
Please adopt Mickey the Matiz, our baby runaround (OBR)
