This is aMERCEDES 2001 A160 Elegance Auto. It is the full automatic, not the ACS. It is driveable and has decent MOT. It is low mileage - 83207 miles.
The car has the faults that mean we have to sell it as spares or repair:
The auto gearbox clutch slips when you first drive off from standing. As soon as you are moving, all gear changes are perfect. It is literally just when pulling off from stationary that there is slip. You can select a working gear by manual switching or wait for the first gear change to drive smoothly away -  so you can drive it, but it is annoying when you stop and need to pull away quickly.  A bulb has gone in the display, so it is hard to read the mileage – you can still see it and it works, but it is not illuminated, so just a bulb. The BAS/ESP dash warning light comes on as soon as you touch the brake pedal. It stays on until the car is turned off and restarted. Had a look on google and this is most probably a brake light switch or a BAS sensor– a really cheap fix if you want to do it. The last owner kept the stereo, so there is no radio.  Overall it is a clean looking car for the year and does not appear to have any faults other than the above.  The MOT is due July 24th2015. There was no advisory on the last MOT. It has good service history with service book stamped up to 77k miles and lots of receipts/invoices including old mots. The tyres are all good including a brand new, unused spare. It has 4 electric windows, power steering, air con and electric mirrors.
 It is a bid up auction, so please don’t ask what the price is. Obviously, it is sold as seen without warranty because of the faults above. The car can be viewed, test driven, inspected before the end of the auction at WR5, just off junction 6 of the M5.
