2001 Porsche BOXSTER S 3.2
The good bits.
Completely original and low mileage example with only 92,100 miles on the clocks.
Full service history, the majority are Porsche dealer/Specialist garages and all original manuals, booklets and leather wallet are present.
Original spare wheel kit including tools and warning triangle etc are still present in the front boot compartment.
Serviced a few weeks ago with new 5-10 oil (recommended by Porsche owners club), all the filters replaced including air and pollen, spark plugs. The brake fluid was also replaced with genuine Porsche as recommended.
11 Months MOT certificate.
Four new tyres fitted last week.
New brake discs and pads all round last week.
Both rear outer CV boots replaced due to MOT advisories.
Interior is in very nice condition with no rips, tears or stains to seats or carpets and with only minimal wear to drivers bolster.
All electrics work as they should including the power roof. The hood is in excellent condition and is watertight, moves nice and freely and opens and closes quickly. Rear screen is clear and I have replaced a few mechanism parts to ensure good movement.
Automatic rear spoiler functions correctly and goes up and down as it should.
I have evidence of the RMS bearing seal being done at Porsche, a common issue with BOXSTERs and if not rectified can lead to serious engine issues. This one is spot on.
The vehicle is fitted with the more sought after and larger turbo twist alloys (original equipment on 911) which have all benefited from a recent refurbishment and have no damage to them.
The car starts, drives and stops very well. You would not think it is now a 15 year old car. It still gets attention from lots of admirers and the flat six engine sounds fantastic.
I have spend about a thousand pounds on this car in my ownership and to get it to a standard that I would be happy to sell it at and the car needs nothing and is ready to drive away.
The not so good bits, all cars have them and nothing major.
The airbag warning light is illuminated. I stupidly unplugged one of the sensors with the ignition turned on whilst moving the seat to clean the carpets! I have contacted Porsche and it will be £100 to clear the light.
There is one key and it functions correctly as in the remote central locking works and boot pops work as they should.
Various stone chips to front bumper, doesn"t help with it being so low really. It would benefit from a respray or touch up in that area. Never bothered me enough.
Cat D back in 2011, hence the low price!!! Front bumper, wing and various plastic under tray bits etc. Been back on the road a while now and passed subsequent MOT test without issue. Repaired through insurance and is mechanically excellent, no chassis damage and all shuts line up correctly.
As I"ve said its a 15 year old car, it polishes up very nicely and goes extremely well. I have just returned from a 3000 mile round trip in it where it performed fantastically well!!
I cannot stress enough how well this car goes, it is still tight and drives fantastic. I have priced it low to take into consideration all factors. Please, if you want a higher mileage, part service history Porsche for more money go ahead and be my guest. If you want a well cared for example then this is the one, regardless of its previous marker status.
Its a great sports car for a very reasonable price.
