Alas here is my other halfs beloved Golf. It is now time for someone else to tinker with it and look after it. It has a valid MOT until August 2021, it was last serviced August 2020, it had all weather type tyres all round 18 months ago, it has had a new battery 2020, it has also had new discs and pads all round within the last 2 years.Also both headlight units have been replaced. Numerous work during our ownership, we are in the process of digging out any receipts that have been kept, to show what has been done to this vehicle.I am sure there are other things that will come to mind after writing this.
Now for the bad points as there are some, the paint requires attention if that sort of thing is important to you, it wasn"t to us, it is flat on all 4 corners, and is flaking on the front and rippled on the rear bumper. Rear passenger window sometimes sticks, but this far has always managed to close. Cruise control sometimes cancels when you indicate left, this does not happen all the time. One of the rear door speakers could do with replacing although it does work up to a certain volume.
There is water ingress into the cabin [it isn"t the pollen filter not fitted correctly, I have checked this], all the door seals are good, I have been underneath the car and all floor pans seem to be good. the only direction I would go in is there is a drain seal on the drivers side tunnel, which fails and directs water into under the carpets. Again this could not be the cause of it. I am now tired of tinkering with this car, it is someone else"s turn, and my other half, much to my surprise has given up on it, for a newer VW.
We have most of the MOT certs since we have owned the car.
There is no warranty given or implied with this vehicle, if you are up for it make a bid who knows you may be lucky, you may know what the problem is, in which case you will have a reasonable run around, for little money.
