Isuzu TROOPER.3.0 Duty Short wheel base.
I have owned this TROOPER for 3 years.and am the second owner. I bought it after my subaru legacy outback was no longer capable of pulling the step daughters new horse and pony the paltry 3 miles each way to the weekly horse jump shows of the 2012 summer.Its not been used all the time for towing so please don"t think its been a trailer puller all its life. It hasn"t pulled heavy machinery long distances as a lot of TROOPERs were originally bought for its pony duties and fetching hay the gruffalo was then used through the horrendous winter of 2012 -13 with record snowfall and allowed me to complete my weekly Yorkshire to the Midlands trek to work and back each monday and friday without ever getting stuck or breaking down. The weather cleared up after the snow lasting into late april and I was given a company car so the truck was off the road from late April through to October when it had a replacement engine from a 2004 90k TROOPER. This was after an oil problem was diagnosed with the Isuzu replaced injectors.  All work has been carried out at Yorks Independent Isuzu At the same time it had a new clutch a full brake rebuild  and full service. Since then it has had new twin batteries , new alternator, radiator, new orps (oil rail pressure system) I recently fitted a low mileage zero play in the spindle turbo charger.
The engine loses no oil or water and is serviced every 4k with oil checked weekly. Run on the proper 5W30 fully synthetic oil (essential for this DOHC 3.0 4JX1 engine) and both filters changed at correct times.Last mot needed rear brake lines and a rear exhaust which were done.135k on it but please remember the 90k  (2004 built ) engine was put in at about 125k and along with all the replaced parts lots of the car is a lot less mileage. She drives straight and doesn"t wander and brakes in a straight line. Power steering works well with no judders or squeals and suspension soaks up the roads and potholes we all encounter and the driving position with the addition of the pair of front captains chairs. The 4 wheel drive engages hi and low and it should and disengages with no issues or undue noises.
The Gruffalo truck starts on the button pulls like a train and when towing  (not often)  trailers are hardly noticeable due to the best in class towing capacities of these extremely good work horses.I intended to turn her into a photographic camping holiday truck so i accumulated the 2 inch suspension blocks lift kit and upgraded the tyres to nearly new Yokohama Geolander M&S t( still 6-8mm on them) and a snorkel with the intention of fitting a roof rack and a roof tent. The overall 4  inch suspension over standard lift was fitted last year along with the snorkel and internal airbox conversion ( all fitted professionally at York Independent Isuzu) Car has central locking electric windows and very rare in the commercials a outside temp gauge.
After fitting citation captains front seats I have recently pulled the rear carpets out along with the factory fitted rear seats as shown in the photographs as i wanted to clean the boot up after having my wet dog in the back.The seats will be put back in this weekend. The seats fold down and tilt to give a sensible amount of room in the back big enough for a large pallet to fit in the back aided by the twin doors at the rear. The seats come with the factory mounted seat belts and the vehicle is log booked as 4 seater.  As you can see the boot floor and inside is in very good condition and no sign of rot as can be the case with lots of TROOPERs if used off road and not cleaned off. I can tell you my truck was owned by a company director to commute to work and didnt see any offroad use and I have had it in a field camping twice, with the horses across a grassed areas  about 10 times and 10 yards off a tarmac road across the Yorkshire moors photographing the northern light a few months ago ( main photo and northern lights last photo). I have parked on a pile of gravel once to prove i could.... (infantile)
All in all she would make a very capable road or offroad vehicle or van as the seats remove in 5 minutes., with the current lift and big tyres the ride is obviously noticeably higher and slightly slower over the standard ride height on standard height tyres.as such I am offering her for sale at £2500 with the wheels and tyres and snorkel or will sell at 2100 ono on standard wheels and tyres with the snorkel removed and lift blocks taken off.
I strongly recommend coming to view it as you bid to but not turn up and knock it down and as such i admit its faults. The passenger door and wing have noticeable dents in the bottom left hand corner and the panel under the passenger headlamp isn"t the best.wheel arch trims are scratched or cracked in a few places and front and rear bumpers are not immaculate bit all work as they should,( i am negotiable on price slightly based on this, it is after all 12 years old and can be used to go off road if needed. She will make a great pony puller or commercial van or plant maintenance vehicle. if the gruffalo truck doesnt sell i will pursue the roof rack and roof tent and continue to use it on my weekend trips out.
