2002 MG TF Silver - 61K Miles
Selling my MG due to lack of time also I have another vehicle coming very shortly so need the space.
Spares or repair - Been stood for 18 months - starts and drives.
First I"ll first the good points: -
Car is overall in good condition - some marks to paintwork but good for age.
Roof is in great condition - no rips or damage and works with no problems.
Rear window is also in great condition - no marks on it.
Alloy wheels look great in black.
4 Brand New Falken tyres fitted not long before car was stopped being used - basically this was a third car and I wasn"t using it enough so never got around to re-insuring it.
Interior is in good condition, driver seat is sitting a bit low this is from people kneeling on it to unzip the rear window.
Door panels have brushed aluminium trim.
Alloy gearknob & hand brake lever.
Xenon headlight conversion
Car still has the original MG number plates from the dealership when new - also MG logo on windows.
Kenwood face-off CD player
2 keys & alarm fobs
Known faults are: -
Clutch pedal can stick - this is a common fault on MGFs & TFs - the release arm corrodes / gums up with dirt where it enters the gearbox.This car is fitted with the modified clutch release arm that has a grease nipple fitted on it to prevent this but due to the lack of use the clutch pedal can stick at the moment.
Thermostat is stuck open, heater never gets that hot. Not a bad thing when MGs are concerned because they are prone to head gasket failures. I have a brand new replacement thermostat & a set of brand new stainless steel water pipes that will come with the car.Regarding the head gasket, this car has had the head gasket replaced - receipts to prove.
Brake discs have surface corrosion from standing and handbrake is sticking slightly on one side - again this will be from standing.
Engine is tappety when cold but fine when it warms up.
Front screen has wiper sweep marks across it but it never failed previous MOTs from it.
Manual adjust door mirrors - driver"s side handle has broken off.
Otherwise car is in good condition and with the brakes sorted, I would think it would go through an MOT.
