The time has come for the wife to part with her COOPER and she"s not letting go easily !!!!Only selling as it just doesn"t get used as much as it should due to us having other carsmotorbikes and it"s criminal to leave it sitting weeks at a time between outings.
We have owned the car for around three years i couldn"t find a good enough one for her so started with a solid car that needed work and brought it upto scratch with plenty spent to get it there.I purchased the car with a full length key scratch so first job before the wife even got to drive it was a "FULL" respray + body kit colour match all new body kit clips new door seal plates(still have protective plastic on them) some chrome parts blacked out to suit the look of the car plus the (RARE) R90 factory split rims powdercoated black cost £2200
The engine has been worked to make this a properly fast little motor (i"m an old skool ford boy + motorbikes i cant help myself!!) work done...lightened and balanced crank pulley(Mini week point from standard)....exedy uprated clutch (another Mini week point from standard)....fan switch mod done (standard ones over heat and fail this now cant happen see photo small gold converter)........power steering modded so no issues (common Mini problem)......k+n 57i induction kit.......kavs 17% reduction pulley on the supercharger to increase boost.....full exhaust system+manifolds and de-cat (year old)......2006 Mini COOPER supercharger (black cones) to handle the power increase the pre-06 superchargers dont like big power increasesand a prone to fail if over stressed.......i fully stripped and rebuilt the supercharger end of last year with all new oil and an uprated gtt supercharger drive coupler so good to go for 40,000 +milesbefore you need to think about an oil change (over rated oil used so will go many more miles than that) i"m a superbikes mechanic and as such i do everything myself that way i know its been done right !!!!car has been mapped and is running in the region of 210-215 bhp not slow by any stretch of the imagination can go 275ish bhp if you changed the cam and injectors but its plenty fast and reliable as it.
In the last year or so the car has also benefited from a new radiator....new windscreen....new battery....new various bushes(front suspension top mounts were done about two months ago and are still a bit tight so creek when steering is turned whilst stationary will stop once bedded in!!.....new rear brake pads (less than 100 miles).....new full set of tyres(less than 700 miles)...air-con re-gas....new windscreen wipers(rear one has been deleted as their shit and fail)....new interior mats....new license plates.
Car has leather interior...factory fitted sat-nav....6 speed box(nice and tight no slop good clean gear changes).....tinted windows all round....1 key.....tinted rear lights.
In all a great car that will do someone proud!!!unfortunately it has picked up a couple of stone chips (45) and a mark on the rear bumper by the towing eye where i"m guessing a car with a tow bar knocked into it and some wear on the drivers seat bolster but these really don"t detract from the overall look and condition of the car its had many positive comments over the years of ownership will be sad to see it go but the time has come.......
