I am actually a bit sad to be selling this as it has been the most reliable, economical and most comfortable car I have ever had. It"s no rocket ship but it"s not terminally slow either and will happily pull in any gear at any speed.I am handy with the tools and so have always run older cars and this has by far been the best of all of them.It has been my daily driver for the past three years during which time, other than regular oil changes, all it has required is a set of brake discs and pads (front and rear, genuine "Mintex") last year, one front suspension bush and I have recently put a set of four new matching tyres on it.
The only reason I am selling it is we moved house last year and need something with a larger capacity boot whilst we renovate our new home. I am now within walking distance of work so fuel economy isn"t such a big deal anymore so we now have an old Range Rover to carry out load lugging duties. I would have liked to have kept this car as well but I do not have space and don"t need the financial burden of two lots of road tax and insurance!
ConditionNo rust! But then you"ll be hard pushed to find any Rover 75 with any signs of rust. They just don"t.The bodywork has marks and blemishes commensurate with age and mileage.Being a Club SE it has dual zone climate control. I had the air-con recharged when I first acquired the vehicle three years ago and it worked fine but it now needs recharging again.Central locking, electric windows, electric mirrors all working fine.It comes with the original head unit (tape deck) with steering wheel controls but also included is an adaptor fascia plate with handy built in oddments shelf to allow fitment of an aftermarket head unit and an adaptor harness to plug it in.
It is now due another oil change/service.The brake pad wear indicator on the instrument cluster is illuminated, this is because I managed to loose the spring steel sensor retaining clips when replacing the discs and pads last year. It was something I kept meaning to get around to fixing. It has no bearing on MoT inspections as there are separate lights for handbrake and fluid level.
To sum up, this has been a surprisingly good car to me and has plenty of life left in it yet. Cheap comfortable, reliable motoring in a good size family car with new tyres and recent brakes. Also classier and better built than an equivilant mundaneo, laguna or vectra (that I have had passed experiences of).
