ADVERTISED AS SPARES OR REPAIRS.
This is the second of our cars to "die" in a week.  MOT falls due on 16 December.  We sent the car down 10 days early.  They say it has a steering box issue.  If it needs a new steering box (which I think is leaking) it is an expensive part and would make it uneconomic for us to undertake the work.  We have not the time or energy to source a second-hand part.  However, from searching the web quickly a reconditioned steering box will cost £170 (the steering specialists).  Besides this the car has just had a new clutch.  It has excellent allots and very good tyres all round.  It has a couple of dents and a plastic bull bar.  The interior is clean.  It has electric front windows and circa 115,000 miles.  I would not like to see it scrapped on the basis that we have owned it for about 6 years and it has been a good runabout for us.  Accordingly, if someone is paying more than scrap value that is fine.  Any inspection welcome.
It is drivable according to our garage but will in a few days time not be drivable because the MOT will have expired.  Accordingly, I would suggest that collection should be before the 16th December to enable the vehicle to be driven home.  Cash on collection.  Scrap value start and no reserve. Light blue metallic and generally either a very good donor vehicle or a vehicle to be done up.
