For sale is my 2004 Alfa Romeo 156 20V 2.4 JTDm, Lusso, Saloon.
I am selling this car as I have recently moved much closer to work and I do not need to do so many miles and I have bought something more suitable for my short commute.
I bought the car mid-2013 and spent a good amount in preventative maintenance as well as regular servicing, the car has been extremely reliable and never fails to get respectable fuel economy (always over 42MPG and over 50MPG on a long trip on the motorway). The car has an array of standard fit items including alarm (works perfectly), air con (functional), climate control (dual zone), CD / Radio, steering wheel controls, trip computer, cruise control (works perfectly), electric windows all around (functional) and much more.
Overall condition of the car:Exterior: Average – there are some age related marks, this car is 10 years old and carries some marks typical with the age, there are two stone chips that have mild corrosion on the roof and there is the usual 156 paint wear behind the front wheels. There is also a mark on the bonnet as well. It does clean up rather well and does look smart overall. The car could also benefit from a new front chrome grill (made from plastic however it was damaged when I purchased the car). There is also a small stone chip that was filled in (previous owned) on the passengers side.
Interior: Good – the leather seats have worn the miles lightly, there is some mild wear on the driver’s seat bolster, the gear knob has worn a little and the steering wheel has some mild wear as well.
Mechanically: Very good, engine pulls strong as you would expect, gearbox works well and all gears engage positively, the clutch feels fantastic – no juddering / slip at all in any gear. Also this car does have one small electrical gremlin – me and the previous owner have been trying to rectify the oil level sensor – the engine is fine and holds oil however 1 out of 10 starts it will say there is no oil (I have checked the oil regularly in my ownership and it uses none at all. Also have an invoice where the sensor was replaced.
Tyres: overall good, the front tyres have the worn the most as you would expect with the particular engine. Front tyres are good quality – Dunlop SP Fast Response and the rear tyres seem to be mid-range ones.
Driving: The car drives really well and has been my daily driver for the time I have owned – it stops and goes great.
The car is pretty much OEM if you will, no remaps or anything non-factory. History:Originally ordered with Mangoletsi in Cheshire (still has dealer printed plates) the car has a good amount of service history and plenty from its previous owners and myself.
The car I am afraid only has one key – this is how it came to me.

Recent works include the following:O/S Upper suspension arm.Full service carried out on 21/08/2014 (oil, filters (including pollen filter) etc.) – with the correct 5/40 fully synthetic oil.I have also recently replaced some of the vacuum lines for the turbo (split), the turbo works perfectly.Each time suspension components have been replaced I have had laser alignment carried out as well.Both drive shafts have also been replaced and one of the CV joints replaced as well.It was also serviced after I collected it from the previous owner and also had rust removed and new underseal to protect the car.MOT Expires 28/04/2015 – it did have some advisories (brake pads and suspension arm – which were rectified).Air conditioning was also checked over – the system was working although did not seem to be 100% if you will. I had a local air conditioning expert come and check it over the system is functional and will cool the car well on a hot day and also work at removing misting when cold outside.There are invoices covering other things such as split turbo hoses and roll bar bushes as well.Cambelt and water pump (and guides / tensioners) was last replaced 09/10/12 at 70840 miles, it now sits on 98280 miles so there is plenty of mileage in the car yet.EGR Valve replaced 31/05/12.I even have the original sales invoice as well.
