            You  are looking at a very clean low mileage Jaguar S Type 3.0 V6 SE that is priced very realistically for the luxury motoring that it will deliver.
      There is an MOT until late October with the car and although it is in generally good order there are no service books to confirm when the servicing was carried out. So we need to understand what we can see!
       
       
      The car drives completely without bumps, squeaks, knocks, bangs or rattles and  everything works with the exception of the heating and ventilation which I"ll get into more detail later. The interior is clean and the car has never been smoked in.
       
       
      The paint and bodywork are also very good with the exception of the offside rear wing which has a parking ding on it and the lacquer has started to lift. Overall though it is a striking looking car. The tyres all have plenty of tread and the wheels are also in good order.
       
       
      There is an Experian Gold Datacheck with the car showing that it is all clear, apart from cherished number transfers.  These  S Types are much underrated and sometimes unfairly maligned but here you have  an opportunity to buy a lovely luxury motor car at essentially runaround money.
       
       
      The issue with the heating and ventilation on the car does require attention. The low coolant light comes on intermittently although the car runs at constant correct temperature on the gauge, so I am confident that the coolant loss is part of the heating system.
      Whilst the controls all work the temperature into the car does not increase and decrease as it should in response to the changes dialled in. The fans work but the system isn"t operating correctly.
      The coolant isn"t weak so the loss hasn"t been a long standing one. I"ve travelled over 100 miles testing and checking the car and the top up was only half a litre. If you are at all capable technically I think that this can be resolved quite economically without resorting to expensive dealer labour rates. If you aren"t confident mechanically this isn"t the car for you.
       
       
      What I think you have here is an opportunity to buy an S Type, accurately described, at a price that reflects its condition. You"ll need to address the heating and then give it an annual service just to be sure. Then you can enjoy it all summer whilst assessing what, if anything, will be required for an MOT in the autumn.
