vehicle description:

I have owned this vehicle since January 2008. During this time it has been a totaly reliable car. This is a true off roader (not just a 4 wheel drive). A few weeks ago and without warning the gearbox developed a fault and will not change out of 3rd gear. There is no noise coming from the gearbox and the car still drives but obviously I only drove home at a steady 45 mph. There are indications on the dash showing the centre diff lock light flashing, the traction control light is lit and rather bizzarely the Air bag light is also lit. I have been told by a Mitsubishi dealership that at best it could be something as simple as an electronic fault or at worst the car requires a gearbox strip and recon. Because I must have a vehicle for my work I have reluctantly purchased another car. I would say that anyone who can sort this problem out will end up with a first class vehicle. The engine and bodywork are perfectly good and everything works as it should (except the gearbox). I almost forgot it has 2 new tyres fitted and a new spare.
