vehicle description:
Hi and welcome to my advert for my 2004/04 Proton Jumbuck Pickup/Ute, finished in metallic blue. I have owned it since 2011 and in that time it has been faultless, very reliable and dependable no matter what i have asked of it. This, undoubtedly would be down to it being made up of 90% Mitsubishi parts making it cheap to run and maintain too! All parts are readily available and easily sourced. I purchased this off a friend who had it as a daily and weekend project, (being a mechanical engineer) he decided that the factory 1.5 85bhp 4G15 engine was just not good enough. He decided to swap the engine and gearbox with the running gear out of a Proton Satria GTI, so it now has the 1.8 140bhp 4G93P engine fitted, making it far more powerful then the original and more up to todays standards. It has only covered 54k miles since new and the engine swap was carried out in around 2009 from a similar mileage doner vehicle. It also has the Recaro seats from the Satria GTI fitted as well! It has 5 previous owners and as far as i am aware it is also fully HPI clear too, (it was when i purchased it and i haven’t had any accidents in it!)..
Right so that is the main bits covered, i originally purchased the pick up purely to carry my off road mountain bike around to different locations so rest assured it hasn’t really done any hard work. At most she has done the odd tip run here and there, but thats about it really. However now day she spends most of the time in the garage being unused which seems to be bit of a shame as it is a great little vehicle. My friend also fitted the pick up with a Tartarini LPG conversion kit so it not only runs on unleaded petrol but LPG too, which delivers fantastic MPG and very economical to run too! It has all be professionally installed and signed off, it is fitted with an auto switch over but this can be manually overridden if required..

I have recently had a brand new mot carried out where it went straight through after sitting in my garage for 2 years! I also had a brand new battery, 4x new spark plugs, 4x new HT leads, new engine oil, new oil filter, new sump plug, oil flush and fuel system cleaner carried out to make sure it was ready for the new owner. All tyres and brakes have loads of life left in them and a new windscreen was fitted a few years back too. I also have a performance clutch kit that i will include in the sale (only reason it hasn’t been fitted is due to the fact the clutch is still perfect..)

Engine has always started with the first turn of the key and doesn’t have any leaks or nasty noises. Gearbox is smooth and precise, clutch is light and has a mid to low biting point. Steering and suspension is spot on, no strange activity or noises. Brakes have a nice positive feel and are judder free. Exhaust is leak free and doesn’t have any blows that i am aware of, it is a tad louder then stock but not anything major at all! Everything works as it should do.
Interior has a few age related marks but again it all functions as it should. Drivers window regulator could do with a lubrication as it is stiff to operate but window does come up and down. Mats are showing signs of ageing as is the gear gaiter but this is only superficial stuff really?
Exterior is pretty clean and everything lines up as it should. It does have a few age related marks here and there, (it is a 15yr old used vehicle at the end of the day), but nothing too nasty. It still scrubs up well and as you can see in the pictures is still very presentable. It has the odd little dent, scratch or surface rust bubble but i am being hyper critical here to save anyone a wasted trip. It really is a great pick up and will be missed however i simply can’t justify keeping it and in all honesty could do with the space back.
Rear load space dimensions: 1,636 mm (64.4 in) x 1,349 mm (53.1 in) x 415 mm (16.3 in) with a maximum payload of 570 kg (1,257 lb) and a maximum load area of 1.64 m (65 in) x 1.18 m (46 in) - taken direct from the original handbook.. (hope this helps!)
I am looking for a hassle free sale, i am self employed and work from home so can be flexible with viewings, (as long as prior arrangements are made). We are located in Brighton, East Sussex.
