“We have owned this car since June 2006, and it has had only two owners, including us.I am selling this car with a number of faults, hence the price, please read carefully below. One major fault is with the engine which I have described in detail below. This car has no MOT, and although the engine can be heard running, I would not suggest driving it until you have the problem fixed with the engine and have it pass the MOT.The only thing that might fail the MOT is the rear brake discs, but I cannot guarantee this.I am being as honest as I can with the details below, if you are interested, please come and view the car. If you buy the car, you pay the price agreed, please don't come and expect to kick the tires and re-negotiate, it won't happen. No time wasters, please. The car is "sold as seen", and will need to be removed by whoever buys it.”

vehicle description:

As I mention above this car has a number of faults and also has had a number of new items fitted, so if you fancy a project, this might be for you.
I"ve spent as much money and time (lots of time!) on it as I want to now, as it was only going to be used as a spare car, so I don"t wish to spend any more.
The car has the usual scuffs and scratches you would expect on an average 12 year old car, which has done over 100,000 miles.
Good Things
New reconditioned Turbo fitted about four years ago
New battery fitted about four years ago
Timing belt and water pump changed at 83,000 miles
Dashboard electronics repaired (known problem) (also see not so good things)
New heater blow resistor and harness fitted (known problem)
New cables fitted for electronic handbrake (also see not so good things)
New Oil, Oil filter, Air filter, Pollen filter, less than 160 miles usage
New glow plugs less than 160 miles usage
New radiator less than 160 miles usage
2 x new front suspension springs less than 160 miles usage
2 x new front brake discs and pads less than 160 miles usage
2 x new rear hatch gas struts fitted
Panoramic sunroof, working, although judders, may need a clean, or a bit more use
CD Radio and a 6 disc CD Changer, complete with CD cartridge
4 good tyres, with plenty of grip left, alloy wheels not too bad for the year, expected scuffs and scratches
7 seater
The 2 rear seats fold flat into the floor, leaving a big boot space
Interior of the car is tidy for the year, although will probably need a clean to freshen up, as not used for a number of months
Two keys
Locking wheel nut key and centre cap key
Jack and wheel wrench
Not So Good Things
Dashboard electronics have been repaired as mentioned above, however, the electronic dipstick indicator only works intermittently on the dashboard, and I don"t know whether this is the dashboard or the sender, as I"ve not checked, also the time clock rest button has a habit of sticking.
Main dash top, has the edges curled up at the front, see picture
One of the back rear windows doesn"t work, probably needs a new temic unit, but I"ve not checked
Drivers windows has on the odd occasion stopped working, then worked again, so maybe a loose connection, but I"ve not checked
Rear parking sensors on occasion don"t work, but when I clean the car, they seem to be OK for a while.
New cables fitted to the electronic handbrake, and it works as it should, although a fault code shows on the dashboard, which can be removed from the CPU by Renault or someone with the correct diagnostics tools
Aircon doesn"t work, it probably needs re-gassing, and will probably need to have a fault code removed from the CPU by Renault or someone with the correct diagnostics tools, I don"t believe the pump is broken, but I"ve not checked
Dipstick (plastic) has snapped and the other half is still in the engine, so will need a sump drain and or removal to remove it.
This car doesn"t have a spare wheel, and doesn"t have the electric pump or foam for a temporary puncture fix
The major problem with the engine is (I believe) exhaust gasses escaping into the cooling system, you can see this pumping back through the coolant expansion tank, and it smells like exhaust fumes.  Hence, I removed the cylinder head, clean it up and fitted a new head-gasket and new head-bolts, (and a new radiator as above) this fixed the problem for about 10 days (less than 160 miles of driving on short journeys), then the same problem came back again, and its leaking steam / coolant on the left has side of the engine when under pressure, although I can"t see where this is coming from.  This car has a water cooled air intake to the Turbo / EGR valve, so I removed the pipes from this component and connected them together to see if it was this that was at fault, and the problem still exists.  I didn"t have the cylinder head skimmed and I didn"t have it pressure tested, so it might just need a new cylinder head, but it might also be something more serious, I cannot say what the problem is, otherwise I would have fixed it and kept the car.
As I mentioned above, I"m being as honest as possible, as I"d prefer you to know what you are buying, I would if it was me who was looking.
If you are interested, please come and view the car, thanks for reading!
