2004 Smart ROADSTER Coupe
A collaboration between the design team from Swatch and Mercedes which resulted in a great fun mid-engine 2 seater. This model was only produced for a short time as it was prone to leaks and cost the dealers a great deal of money to put right. This car is leak free having had all the work done by Mercedes and a Smart Car Specialist to seal it properly, no nasty surprises to be found here. This car has been trouble free and good fun. It"s cheap to insure and tax along with being economical to run. I have always run it on premium fuel and it"s still only £35 ish to fill up. As soon as I got it I had the big service done with spark plugs changed and since then oil and filter changes on a regular basis. The mileage is only 53700 but in use still so may go up a little. The roof can be opened and closed at any speed and the side door bars removed to give a true open top car. When you park next to a Lotus Elise and compare the two the soft top on this is much better. The engine is only 698cc three cylinder with a turbo, not much but when you drive the car it feels like it"s flying along. The car is very responsive and easy to drive, it"s never in the wrong gear due to the automatic gearbox, the flappy paddles make it even better giving a super car feel. It"s packed full of mod cons like traction control, airbags, central locking, onboard computer, auto lights, remote boot release, alarm immobiliser, ice cold aircon etc.
Included with the car is a set of custom made luggage, made by ROADSTER bags that fit neatly in the front and back. Ideal for weekend getaways, these are in excellent condition only used a handful of times. Also a genuine cover for the car if you want to park it up for a while.
