2004 Smart 450 ForTwo Passion
Originally bought last summer for us to ‘test the water’ with towing behind our motorhome and . . . . we love it!
It is the ideal car to tow – with a kerb weight of only 750kg and already modified with the UK-based TOWtal system, it comes complete with the over-run braked A-frame!
As you can see in the photos (more can be supplied, along with answers to any other questions – just ask!) this car is offered for sale in very good condition.
The motorhome also shown in some of the photos is NOT for sale!
This auction is for collection only, but if you have a vehicle with a towball, working 7-pin electrics and a spare rear number plate, you can simply arrive, and in a few minutes just hook-up and then tow this car away! We’ll even throw in a free demo on how to connect the (rather substantial) A-frame up!

Tinted glass roof (and rear windows) with internal sliding sunscreen (feels surprisingly spacious inside)

The car has already been modified to be safely towed (and the only real evidence is when you look below the front numberplate)
Even with only a 2.0l motorhome, you hardly notice you’re towing it!
No trailer board required when being towed as all the lights work normally
Snap-close rear numberplate holder fitted for easy changeover
The heavy duty A-frame folds up and stores away in a bag, can also be stored in the boot (see photos!)
Original TOWtal instruction booklet also supplied, which contains foreign language translations of the system’s compliance with UK / EU legislation!
Not so good bits:
The airbag light has decided to come on (oddly, only after I recharged the battery a few weeks ago? I understand this is a common fault and can be reset by a Smart specialist . . .)
I’ve never used the inbuilt DVD-based SatNav system – I prefer my own Tomtom.
MoT expires 29 July 2016 (but no known advisories on previous ones)
