Maserati/Ferrari History
Maserati was founded on the 1st December 1914
Ferrari took over Maserati in 1999 making Maserati its luxury division. In 2001 Ferrari completely re-tooled and modernised the Modena factory and in 2002 launched the 4200 Coupe and Spyder models. The 4200 replaced the earlier 3200GT model range. The 4200 also saw the installation of a Ferrari engine from the Ferrari 430 model. In 2005 Maserati merged with Alfa Romeo under the Fiat group.
