This is my daughter"s car. It has been a brilliant car and is now up for sale as she has upgraded to a slightly bigger car. It"s very clean and tidy and in excellent condition.
We bought it in December 2020 and first registered it in my name. Once she turned 17 we registered it in her name, in February, so the last two owners were registered at the same address.
She learnt to drive in it and then used it until recently when she bought another car.
It"s an ideal first car. Cheap to tax, cheap to run but most importantly one of the cheapest to insure. Insurance prices for 17 year olds are horrendous!
It"s surprisingly roomy for a small car, with plenty of leg room in the back for adults. There are lots of storage spaces, more so than on some bigger cars!
It has just been for an MOT (15.11.21) and it went straight through, with advisories on the two front tyres, as the treads are getting low. As it wasn"t due until 13th December it"s now got a year and 4 weeks until the next MOT.
It has two keys, one that locks remotely and the other manually.
We fitted a couple of blind spot mirrors, as recommended by her driving instructor.
I did a couple of upgrades to the car for her...
The standard speakers are very poor (just two mounted in the dashboard). I swapped them for a pair of Pioneer speakers and also fitted an identical pair in the back doors. Although these speakers are only 10cm in diameter, they have vastly improved the sound.
The 107 only comes with one interior light door switch, activated by the driver"s door. I have fitted switches for the other three doors.
The only issue we have had with it was the exhaust silencer started blowing in February, so we had a new one fitted.
The exhaust on a 107 hangs quite low and can scrape when driving over speed bumps etc. I have added an extra hanger to the centre pipe and modified one of the silencer hangers. This has given the exhaust more ground clearance.
