I lost my job in the oil industry recently and therefore can no longer afford to own and run a Maserati. The car is in beautiful condition having covered 90,054 miles and has a full service history stamped in the book. All original books, paperwork and a file of history come with the car - it is totally genuine. There are 2 original keys also. It has a lot of extras and everything works as it should except for the minor points listed below.
The car drives beautifully as it should and is very rapid. There are no engine or gearbox issues and no smoke. Engine test during MOT at fast idle only produced 0.011 CO (0.009 at idle) - the limit for MOT is 0.200 - not bad for a big V8 and evidence that the engine is in great condition.
I am selling the car with no reserve and have set a low starting price compared to many of the cars listed for sale. No part exchange or swap as I need the funds. Deposit of £500 to be paid by Paypal immediately at end of auction and the rest in cash on collection. Pickup should be arranged within a few days following the auction. Anyone with less than 10 feedback should contact me before bidding - failure to do so will result in cancelled bids.
The car is not advertised elsewhere so the auction will not end early and will run its course.
Bad bits:The car failed its MOT this week on the following:Both rear tyres need to be replaced (currently Bridgestone Potenzas 285/35ZR19)Nearside headlamp aim is too highSupplementary restraint system warning lamp indicates a faultFront passenger door cannot be opened from inside (common for Maseratis and easily fixable with instructions on web)Nearside front anti-roll bar linkage has excessive play (another common Maserati issue)Nothing ridiculous in this list. Airbag light only came on when driving the car to the garage.
The advisory items were:Offside front tyre worn on inner edgeEngine management light on
The engine management light has a mind of its own - it comes on for a while and then goes off again. I had it in the garage and the code represented a cam sensor. It was replaced but failed again not long thereafter (same code). I have not done anything since as the car drives as it should.
New battery fitted in February.
Bodywork is in good condition with no rust. Didn"t have time to wash it before the pictures so it is a little dirty.
Genuine bargain to be had as I am only looking for the starting price - any more is a bonus.
The car has no MOT as stated and is on SORN so will need to be removed appropriately (can be driven obviously but at your own risk).
I live in north Aberdeenshire. Aberdeen airport is only a few miles away and there are good rail links to Inverurie via Aberdeen.
