“The usual wear and tear you'd expect on the bodywork of a vehicle of this age. One obvious dink just forward of the near side drivers door (grazed wooden post of carport reversing out). Suspected wiring fault somewhere between Engine Management Computer & dash, runs perfectly, but no speed/rpm etc displayed. NOTE - dash has been removed & sent away for testing, showing NO FAULTS with certificate to prove. Engine running like a dream, dealer suspects short in the wiring between EMC & dash.”

Thanks for reading, someone is going to get a bargain with this car - if you're not fussed with a bit of "age-related character" this motor, with a little work, is good for another 90k having just had cam belt changed.
The good stuff - we're second & third owner (my name then my wife's), had it since 2008. It's had an easy school run type life, usual light wear inside & out. It runs really well, the 1.9 turbo diesel gives this little car real useable torque to nip around town & overtake with ease when you get stuck behind the inevitable tractor/lorry. We liked it so much we've bought another one a couple of years younger!
The not so good stuff - it has a short / wiring niggle between the engine management computer & dashboard. Dash is fine (really expensive to replace, so we removed it and had it sent away for testing & has no problems, certificate guaranteeing this available). Dealer confirmed engine management computer working fine - so somewhere in the wiring between the two is a glitch. What does this mean? It goes without a hiccup, but doesn't display speed, rpm, engine oil temp etc on dash. We ran it for 6 months just using a sat nav to show speed until MOT was due. We knew it would fail on dash, but had it MOTed anyway to check nothing else was awry and all that came up was one tyre worn to limits. The only other bad point of note is a dink in nearside just forward of front door caused by grazing the carport wooden post reversing out (dink & offending carport in photos!).
So there you have it. This car, one way or another, is going. With the money we've spent, particularly recently (plenty of history to view) it would be a shame if someone with a bit of time / inclination didn't sort this niggle & get many more useful years out of this dependable motor. Alternatively we need the carport space back, so if you fancy it for spares then bid away. There's no reserve so good luck bidding, just note that although it's running fine the MOT's expired & one tyre worn to limits so you'll need to have appropriate collection plans in place. Full payment within one week of auction end please, and collection within two weeks please.
